Shoes a very subjective. I like these better as moderate support shoes than ones with a "bump" in the arch (like Asics 21XX series). They have a fairly wide and flexible toe box to minimize toe nail loss or bleeding on those many marathons...These are my go-to trainers for long runs, I like them about as well as the Brooks Adrenaline, with which I switch them every other day to reduce the chances of chronic injury, just because the two different shoes ride slightly differently. It's also easy to switch to Nike Free or Brooks Mach trail shoes, assuming you are a forefoot or midfoot runner who does not put weight on their heels a lot.
