Starter Kit for Wii

I was looking for some Wii accessories. I needed a wireless bar, component video cable and steering wheel. I had no need or interest for the other items such as the gun, golf club, bat, etc. I was able to purchase this entire kit for less than the cost of a steering wheel! So keep in mind that my 5 star rating is based on a price that is 86 percent off list price, not that rediculous list price. My advice is to price out the items separately and if you can get what you want in the set cheaper, buy it.Battery Packs - Don't buy this for the recharable battery packs because they didn't work right. If you want to recharge batteries just get some AA rechargeables and skip the Wii specific packs.Component Video Cable - The component video cables picture quality is the same as the standard cable that came with my Wii. I only needed component because that is the only input I had on my receiver.Steering Wheel - You will want extra steering wheels if you have Mario Cart.Wireless Bar - Works the same as the wired bar. It doesn't communicate with the Wii, so you can place it as far away from the Wii as you want.

For <7 bucks including shipping, it is not so bad. Only one battery pack is working and sensor bar is also working out of the box. I haven't tried the rest. I have an old wall-plug USB charger and I just used it to charge battery pack. I am not intense gamer and I play sometimes and watch Netflix with Wii sometimes. Sensor bar has timer for 60, 90 min etc. I used NiMh AA batteries for sensor bar. Haven't lost connection... yet. I manually turn it off after each using.

I ordered for sensor & wires, batteries r crap, will not even work at all.all in all the extra peices r just extra.good buy.

Got my kids a wii for christmas. And onlt had one of this and htat. But ordered this and now I have 2 of everything. And got a good deal on it.

Perfect for someone with a new wii

At $50 it is overpriced, especially now that the important parts (cable, battery packs and sensor bar) can be had at bargains from various sources. That said it works as promised. As someone else wrote there is very little information provided and the web site has little more. Again, a lot of money for poor support. But most of it can be reasoned out. I don't think the battery packs are Li Ion as someone suggested; I think they are NiMH, but I do wish they were Li. I can't imagine why you shouldn't use Li batteries with a Wii controller.Plug the battery packs into a standard mini USB plug and they can be charged off the system, off a computer or off a wall charger. They seem to last as well as most other batteries. The wireless sensor bar is convenient not to have an extra wire around and works very well.I really don't see any visual difference between composite and component, but perhaps that has to do with the particular game. At any rate it works fine. Most of the sports accessories aren't important to us, but if they help you with the realism of the game then they are there.If others didn't like it or found problems I cannot fight their claim, but this worked fine for us and I really doubt most will have a problem.

It is likely you will never use anything from this pack more than once besides the wheel. You may think you'd use the wireless sensor bar, but I have had two now and neither worked. The IR signal it sends out to bounce off the Wii controllers is not powerful enough and so you never see your pointer, or if you do it disappears whenever you move it and more than half speed. Other Psyclone products are also junk, if you read the reviews. Wish I had before we bought this.

Don't waste your money, you shouldn't even use the rechargeable batteries that come with it, they are not endorsed by nintendo and are the WRONG kind. (see page 19 of the set up manual) My husband called Nintendo and was told DO NOT use those Lithium rechargeables, go get the recommended NiMH Rechargeables. The wrist straps are flimsy, we like the real Wii ones much better. The kids used the wheel only once, then never used the bundle items again. Waste of Money.
