Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem: Inside the Monster Shop

Fun to flip through as a professional or fan. I am both a model maker and a huge fan of the original franchises. While the film was hands down the weakest of all Alien, Predator & AVP films, the cinematography and effects were striking. There is plenty of photo fodder pre and post production, with practical effects displayed in juicy, colorful detail & explained simply from conceptualization to production. The films redeeming factor is basically this book. Worth it.

I'm glad to have purchased this item when I did. Unlike in the movie, I could actually see the creatures in this book.

I bought this item for my daughter because she loves predator and aliens, etc. Well we got the book and it was in a package with clear plastic wrap on it. Well soon I found out why. When you take the plastic off and open the book to look at it, the book detaches from the binding, just falls apart! I sent it back once and got a new one hoping it would not do it again but lo and behold, the second one did the same thing. Dont buy this product, it is made very poorly and kids will be disappointed. We kept it and my husband glued it with some special glue he had because she was broken hearted and I didnt have the heart to send it back for a refund.

Great book with amazing photos! This is for the customer who wants to see what goes into all the creatures of this film!!!

This book give justice to a great work in design and visual effects, more thand the movie did. At the end: AVP2 was a bad movie, with great effects, with great design and here the design and fx production process are very well reported. Great book and art.

A fascinating look behind the scenes of one of the most maligned and criticised blockbusters in recent years. We also get info on the challenges of making the monsters, and also of making them work in the weather and effects of the movie.Minor and major changes from the original alien and Predator designs are candidly revealed, along with instances where they went wrong, and we get an insight into the vast amount of work that went into the creature designs and builds alone.With special focus chapters given to weaponry, the new Predator (even as a fan of the film I was unaware he had a nickname), and the PredAlien, it goes into enough detail to satisfy.I recommend watching the film again and then reading this - it's a very satisfying experience when everything's fresh in your mind.A fantastic book for fans of the film and creature SFX fans.

Great insight to how the creatures were developed and how the "Predator technology" was designed ... it must have broken the designers hearts when they saw the "high school romp with monsters" on the screen ... great book though

Cierto que la película deja mucho que desear dentro de la saga cinematográfica de cada una de ellas, pero este libro recoge muy buenas fotos del proceso de creación de las dos especíes protagonistas de la película, además de bocetos, diseños, proceso de producción, montaje, etc...de los efectos especiales de maquillaje creados para la ocasión.

Bought it used for a cheap price. Very interesting text and a lot of pictures.
