Rightline Gear Truck Bed Tent

I love this tent. It fits my 18 Tacoma double cab 6’ bed perfectly. It feels sturdy enough with no gaps. I give it 3 stars because I had a seam rip the second time I set it up. I have read the reviews and I knew that they reported a lot of seams ripping so I was careful not to over tighten the straps when setting it up. It still ripped so I think it was defective. Set up is easy if you follow the instructions and takes 10 to 15 minutes. If they replace it and the new one is ok I will update my review. UPDATE: I received a new tent in 3 days. I inspected the seams and it looked ok. I went camping and was very careful when setting it up. I recommend reading the attached instructions carefully. Make sure the seam lines up with the edge of your bed and don’t tighten ANYTHING until the very end. And even then, do not tighten anything very tight. I have the 3-fold tonneau cover and the tent fits over it when folded up. It’s a tight fit but not a problem. Bottom line-I am very happy with this tent. If they would reinforce the seams especially on the front corners (near the cab) it would be perfect. I am skeptical about the durability due to single-stitched seams and thin material, but for 4-5 times a summer it is perfect. I gave it 2 more stars. I love the design. It’s roomy. Good ventilation. The zippers are good enough but like most zippers you still need to be careful with them. I like that there is no floor so you don’t have to empty the bed to set it up. And it fits perfectly. This tent seems to be well built and was fairly easy to set up (once i figured out which way was which) It is also extremely small when bagged up, could fit it behind the driver seat no problem. Sadly the model 110760 just isn't a good fit on my '96 toyota t100 extra cab, the length is perfect but because the tent is designed to go around the outside of the car, it is too tight between the tail lights which causes the door to be nearly impossible to close. I'm also afraid that it would end up ripping after a few uses from being over stretched. I will be returning it tomorrow and trying something else. My advice would be to read other reviews and make sure it fits well on your truck before purchasing, unfortunately for me though, the design just won't work for my t100.

This a a fantastic truck tent. Sets up quickly, lots of room! If you have a tonneau cover, just put it away under cover when done!

Great Truck tent. Fit my 2005 Toyota Tacoma perfectly. Instructions and web site video were explained well. I have had no issues with the zippers. Update December 2024. Have used this tent numerous times in all weather conditions. It has been awesome. No issues. For the money and the quality this is a Great Truck Tent. Update 2025. Poles started to split. Contacted Rightline. They stated they no longer make truck tents and do not have poles.

I bought this tent to go on a mountain biking trip to VT. This is the second tent I bought, the first one was too small even after I asked if it would fit my truck, a 2017 Toyota Tacoma and was told it would. So I send that one back and got the bigger one. It fit, not great but better. So up to VT I go. The set up was relatively easy, it’s MUCH easier with two people. Later that day, a storm front pushed through and dropped a fair amount of rain. As I curled up in my nice new truck tent to wait out the storm, I suddenly felt wet. I threw on my head lamp and discovered the tent leaking from the zipper seams and several seams overhead. This resulted in my sleeping bag and all my cold weather gear getting soaked. As it was due to drop into the 20’s that night, I was forced to pull out and head home. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this tent.

I bought this tent to use on a recent trip to Maine. The model I bought fit my 2018 Nissan Frontier with the sliding toolbox installed in its 6 foot bed. Contrary to what Amazon’s “part finder” said, this tent fit fine. I had to work carefully to ensure I didn’t rip the front edge where the tool box is in the bed. I’m 6”2” but with the tailgate down I had just enough room to fully stretch out. I think the wheel wells in the bed would make it a tight fit for two people. I felt the only design flaw is the tailgate flap. I would have liked it a bit longer to seal the gap between the tailgate and bed. My recommendation is that one bring a tarp or canvas drop cloth to line the truck bed. The drop cloth would serve the following purposes: 1) act as a waterproof liner if the bed is wet 2) prevent scraping the skin if a factory installed bed liner is present (it’s like sandpaper) 3) seal the gap between the tailgate and truck bed. (Mosquitoes are murder in Maine). I didn’t face any foul weather while in Maine, so I can’t comment on waterproof integrity, etc. All in all, the tent performed well in balmy weather. The zippered side vents provided adequate ventilation in the unusually warm weather I encountered.

An exact fit for my 2015 Chevy Colorado, 6-ft bed. Pay attention to the directions & it’s pretty straightforward to set up. I like that I can put it up with the tonneau cover on, then unroll the cover inside the tent.

I REALLY wanted to like this tent & keep it, but the overall quality of this product is severely lacking. I went camping in this tent six times and loved how easy it was to put on my Tacoma, but when one of the clips just fell off the strap, I was incredibly disappointed. I literally just pulled the tent out of the carrying case & the clip fell out of the bag! So, I returned the tent and Amazon sent me a replacement, which after using it only TWICE, the fabric ripped when I was gently placing one of the main poles through the tent. After inspecting the tent in more detail, I noticed many little tears around seams and the stitching looked like it was done quickly, with little to no attention to making sure the seams were secure. Overall, this tent isn't worth the hassle! I've used a Big Agnes tent that I bought for more than double the price of this tent that's lasted than 12+ years & used in every terrain imaginable. Save yourself the time & headache - spend more $$$ to get a higher quality, more reliable tent for your truck.

Works great for me. No complaints. I put this on an Australian Ford Ute which its not designed for but the size was in the same range. Worked fine.

The tent itself is awesome...easy set up and tear down..lots of room,i leave the tonneau cover on folded as a shelf inside and not having an attatched floor the tent is what i was hoping for..although for the 2017 tacoma i doesnt seem long enough(4-6"short)maybe after more uss it will stratch a little bit..other than the small bit i expect a lot of use from the rightline tent..i have already shown others with trucks how it looks.

Worked well. Easy to put up once you get the hang of it. Not having a floor was a plus, and it worked well with a Bakflip tonneau cover that served as a shelf/seat. Gaps around the tailgate had to be covered to keep bugs out, and it would be nice to have a fly or awning that covered the door more. Not sure how it would stand up to constant use but it was fine for our first trip.

This model fits the 6ft box of the 3gen tacoma. Like that you dont have to unload to set up. Also fits over my soft rollup box cover . It is tight fitting over tailgate hope that is not a problem down the road .
