No guesswork...exact fit!
Issue: 9" burner (dual) would not operate. Indicator light on stove top was illuminated to warn of "HOT COOKTOP"...but the cooktop was had not been used.Only the 9" burner was not working. All others functioned fine.We opted to replace both the controller (this item) and the dual element. It was obvious upon disassembly that the heat sensing rod and several parts of the nichrome heating wire on the element were damaged/expired.For this reason we replaced the range element controller and the element.Very easy to do. The replacement controller was identical to the one in the stove.Once the electricity was disconnected from the stove, I simply disconnected each wire (one at a time) from the old unit and made the same connection on the new unit. Rinse and repeat until done. You will need a phillips screwdriver. Needle nose pliers are helpful to plug/unplug the spade connectors from their terminals.Worked fine once reassembled and power restored.Wonderful product no doubt, made my day!

The heat is on
GE stove top burner would not control the temperature, it was always on high heat. This control switch fixed the problem. Now it will go from low to high again. No more burnt dinners.

defective part suspect it was a damaged returned item
When I installed the infinity switch from Senaca River it was free spinning, didn't click into different stops (high, medium, low), and I immediately suspected the switch was defective. However, I then ordered a new burner and installed it and the burner went on and wouldn't turn off. As a last resort, I removed the Senaca River infinity switch and put back the original switch and the stove worked fine- conclusive proof that the Senaca River replacement part was defective on arrival. I suspect it was a returned part that someone damaged and returned and Senaca River just shipped it out to me. Frankly, not worth the effort to return it after they charge a 20% restocking fee plus return postage.

Easy to install. It works.
The knob shaft broke on my GE Cafe range. To fix it, this switch needs to be replaced. Before replacing, pull the range out from the wall. To replace it, you need to take off the back vent (3 screws at back); detach the ceramic top (2 more screws at the back) and pull it backwards; this exposes a heat shield covering the knob switches which must also be removed (2 or 3 more screws); the old switch is then accessible and must be unscrewed. The wires can be transferred to the new switch and it can be screwed in place. Then the reassembly steps are just the reverse of the disassembly. Two pins on the old switch had a copper "jumper" connecting them. I also moved this to the new switch which didn't come with this jumper.

Worked on my kenmore range
This switch has all the same connections on the back as my range dual burner switch, right front. Range model #790.976333000 kenmore double oven. I had to file on the bottom part of the stem on this switch to get the knob on. You might need a file if you get this. but your wallet will thank you for 10 min. of filing to get the knob on. My small burner on the dual burner works now. My switch part # is 318589600 that came with the oven.
