works as intended. plugged it into the wall, slipped the dummy battery in and it just worked. no extra steps, no hassle it just worked ( for once something just worked )

Canon - EOS R8 - Dummy Battery Adapter - Worked the Third Time I Tried It
The battery worked with my Canon EOS R8. There is also a little opening at the base of the camera covered by black rubber where the cord can exit the battery compartment. At first, I didn't see the little rubber opening.

Mandatory accessory for vlogging
I bought this to use with the EOS R100 that I bought to use for my youtube channel. Mirrorless cameras have pretty poor battery life so to be able to get all the way through a recording session without changing batteries at a random point I needed one of these. It works perfectly with my camera and has some smart features, such as the connection point to the dummy battery being in-line rather than the adapter plugging into the dummy battery; that means if I trip over the cord it just disconnects instead of bringing the whole rig crashing down. This has already saved me from one potential catastrophe.
