Switching to a daycare where I need to meal prep and try to keep my toddler's lunch warm and contained. I tried this bento along with 2 others. So here's the verdict:Pros:- feels sturdy both outer and inside- inner tray fits snugly so no ratting (yet) and it doesn't just fall or lift out when turned upside down- silicone lid glued onto top/roof of the top lid so no hassel of trying to line up the tray to the compartment- the little dressing/sauce compartment seals pretty darn tight which is a plus and minus funny enough- 2 locks instead of 1 as in some other models- inner tray is dishwasher and microwavable also easier to lift out to clean because it has ledges compared to the others which don't. When those inner tray really seat in, if you have no leverage it can be a challenge to remove.Cons:- outer lid locks don't click very tightly compared to some of the others. Perhaps it is so the kids can open it easier but minimal effort to unlock it. I guess having 2 locks because of this is safer than just the one but I did prefer the more solid hinging and confident click of other brand's. Not really a deal breaker though- yes the good seal in the dressing/sauce holder is a plus, but sometimes it's tough to remove for cleaning. Catch 22- main compartments don't seal tight enough to contain soupier foods, saucy foods and such. The runniest item would be thickened soups at best. Yogurt will hold, but even Panera's broccoli cheddar soup seeped a tiny bit past the "seal" to the other compartments. I only had it on my counter on it's side from about 9am to noon to simulate the time until my son would be eating it. I wouldn't feel 100% comfortable having this constantly on it's side but all things considered, it probably will contain it all within, just may get a tiny bit of food mixing. I've seen worse.- Didn't keep the food warm. I didn't put it in super steaming hot but pretty warm. By noon time (3+hrs) it was pretty cool.If you are looking for more thermos-like quality, this is not it. Still better than the other cheapo containers.

This lunchbox is REALLY, REALLY COOL... it's a wonderful idea and I loved it while I had it.PROS: It is absolutely leak proof; the round silicone lid isn't that hard to remove (just push down on one end); the snaps close very quietly, yet are secure; and the removable tray is a wonderful idea.CONS: I ended up returning this lunchbox because after only light use (4-5 lunches, heated a few times in a microwave, and hand washing only), it developed a number of cracks in the clear plastic around the little round container. They didn't look like the kind that would lead to a leak (though I didn't use it beyond first seeing them), and may have been just cosmetic, but I was surprised to see this so soon and thought it would be better to try a different product. I did not like how heavy it was in addition to all my schoolbooks, though it's really not that heavy if you don't already have a heavy bag. The tapering corners are difficult to clean w/ both sponge and brush. Finally, almost every time I used it I wished that the sections were sized differently (i.e. larger side sections).

Sorry for the delayed feedback, I wanted to be sure I tested it for a week before making my decision. This box arrived quickly and was adequately packed, looks great, seems very durable, size is great for a 1st grader and I have not had any problems with leakage. I found the online description to be very accurate.After a recent diagnosis food allergy, I realized I need to make lunch for my child daily rather than have her eat the school lunch. I wanted a container that she could easily open and close that would not leak and keep her foods fresh, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money on one. Additionally, it has promoted healthier eating - My child picks daily which protein, vegetable and fruit she wants to take to fill up her compartments. (Before this, getting her to eat vegetables was VERY difficult.) I am very satisfied with my choice in this box. I'm considering ordering another for convenience - and 2 of these would still cost me less than 1 of most of the other listings for similar products.Thanks for making my life easier!

My children love this! It would be a 5 star aside from the face that it does leak for sure. I put some water in and shook it around. Not only did it leak into the other compartments but it also got all over my counter. Nothing a little press and seal over the compartment won't fix though! I love everything else about this. The color is true and wonderfully vibrant. My kindergartner has no problems at all opening this box on her own.

There is a 7 at the bottom of the box. From my understanding 7 means plastic contains BPA. Can anyone confirm that this is BPA free? The item said BPA free before I bought it and if it is not I would only give 1 star and it will become trash. The box is adorable and practical. The sauce compartment tends to spill over into the next compartment a little. I am also concerned that water trapped under the non removeable silicon lid will creat a breeding space for mold from washing. Is this dishwasher safe if it is BPA free?Update: After doing some research, I have determined that the 7 on the bottom of the box does indicateThe box is not BPA free like it says in the title when I purchased it. It also says not microwavable (see photo below) as the title says microwavable and dishwasher safe I was lied to and I do want to do whatever I can to get a refund!

I bought two different kinds of box a few months ago, so here is a review with experience. Both leak between compartments, this one slightly more than the other. But its nice for a main dish or sandwich without having to wrap stuff individually. Neither leak in my backpack.

Love this lunch box! It's not as expensive as some similiar ones, but the quality is great! It has a great seal and the latch is easy enough for my preschooler to do herself. The only drawback is that it is a little on the heavy side, but no complaints from either of my littles and they think the compartments are cool!
