Arc'teryx Rho LTW Beanie | Lightweight Wool Blend Beanie

I’m a big fan of Arc’Teryx products, but this $35 “beanie” is a joke. It’s a liner for use under a helmet in moderate temperatures and nothing more. It won’t keep your head warm or protected. It’s basically a doo rag without the ties. Even at Arc’Teryx premiums, this beanie should be $15. Highly dissapointed in the $ value of this product. If you are looking for a helmet liner look elsewhere, if you are looking for a beanie look elsewhere - Arc’Teryx offers other options that are cheaper and more functional.

This beanie ended my search for the perfect beanie. I'm bald so I was looking for something lightweight and breathable for moisture control (wicking), sun protection and to keep the edge of the breeze off. I've tried merino beanies, buffs, synthetic, etc., but they were either too heavy or too breathable (read:cold). The heavier ones came off, leaving my head exposed, the buffs always had hot spots from doubling up the fabric and the synthetic ones always required one of the former on top. I just completed a 3 day backpack trip through the Enchantments with temps ranging from 25F-50F and sun, rain and snow. This beanie stayed on as my solo layer the entire trip aside from when I was in my bag at night and switched it for a Nordic Heater. It's perfect for wearing at the office, around town or on any trail. I don't feel it, but my bald head appreciates it! The price is well-worth it considering its inherent Arc'teryx quality and being mostly wool. I've spent more on other 'merino' brands, but this is a real value buy for such an important piece of kit!

I'm bald. This items is comfortable and warm. Plus...you get "cool guy" points when you wear Arc'teryx products. Its science.

I had to buy myself one of these !!!! Needed a hat while away from home ....so borrowed my son's for the day.This is soooo very smooth and comfy. It stays on my hair and doesn't slip around. Better yet it is thin but warmand when pulled down over my ears it doesn't give "feed back / whistling" from my hearing aids. Best hat ever.Plan on trying it out under my motorcycle helmet. Buy this it won't disappoint.

I'm not really impressed with this product. The craftsmanship does not seem to be very good and the material is very thin. I thought for $35 I would be getting a lot more value for my money. There are hard lines where they sowed the material together at the top of the cap. The product itself is made in Vietnam. So it probably cost around $0.50 to make. Just be aware of what you are getting for your money.

Great lightweight headgear. This is not a thick oversize fashion item. A growing out crew cut may poke through the fabric. Good for use in cool desert mornings or as a helmet liner in a pinch. It is very much indeed somewhere between a watch cap and a helmet liner. A minimal head covering that I personally like for its intended temperature range.

These are so good I bought a second when I thought I lost the first. Very thin but surprisingly warm.

I was looking for a lightweight beanie for warmer weather and this one is exactly that. Have had and worn the beanie for a while now and seems to be durable as well as breathable. If you are looking for something to keep the head warm, this one is not it, but if you like wearing beanies even in warm weather, this is a perfect fit. In terms of size, it seems to be very stretchy, I have an average sized head with shorter hair and it fits perfect, but if you have a giant melon and a full head of hair it may wind up looking more like a Yamaka.

When this hat arrived i must confess to being a little disappointed. However,after wearing it on a very windy Dartmoor a couple times, i have to admit to being wrong. This is a quality item(typical of Arc'teryx.) A lightweight super product. Buy it,you won't be disappointed.

Lightweight and good all rounder but not the warmed in winter

Excellent performance. If you find hats tend to irritate your skin (like me) this hat should help. Warm and comfortable to wear and looks great.

Ich habe mir diese Mütze gekauft, da ich leider nicht mehr allzuviele Haare auf dem Kopf habe. Daher bin ich ab Herbst eigentlich nur noch mit Mütze unterwegs und habe aus diesem Grund auch relativ viele zuhause. Die Arcteryx Rho ist mit Abstand die beste ( Habe noch diverse Mammut, Kaschmir, Adidas usw). Sie ist leicht, angenehm zu tragen und wärmt ohne dass man darunter zum Schwitzen kommt. Sie trägt sich deutlich besser als eine Fleece Mütze da sie relativ dünn ist und am Kopf kein einengendes Gefühl entsteht. Ich habe sie beim Sport und beim normalen Ausgehen an und möchte eigentlich nicht mehr ohne sie aus dem Haus. Ich habe sie in neutralem schwarz und werde mir noch eine weitere Farbe nachkaufen.
