Sarona

Whilst "Sarona" never makes the mark as a romance, as the key relationship lacks passion and desire, it is very readable. The key to this book is the Author's intimate knowledge of Palestine in the first half of the last century. The characters bring this fascinating and generally unnoticed piece of history alive, like no other reference book on the period. It is the pragmatic and determined nature characters and the way that the book is written that gives one an insight to how different people dealt the conditions in WW2 Palestine, the lives of the different groups living there at the time and how they impacted on each other. Highly relevant still as the events that occurred then still reverberate around our news stations periodically today...
