Camco 40542 Heavy-Duty 20lb or 30lb Dual Propane Tank Cover (Polar White)

I have had this product installed for 5 years now. East to install, still work great. Keep in mind that a 2018 Ram 1500 has better, heavier tail then new trucks. If you need/want to install one, I highly recommend this one

Strong, modern cover. Looks great over our aged white cover. We kept our old white cover for storage and traveling while applying this one once set up camping. We figure the cover should last much longer while retaining its "new" look. We have 30# tanks and this cover fits perfectly, covering the entire tanks and leaving just enough room for opening/closing the tank via the valve handles. Its easy to assemble as it comes basically in three pieces, the two sides and the top access panel There were about 8 small bolts/nuts to assemble the two sides and some adjustable knobs/bolts to put the top access cover on. Took about 10 minutes to assemble **drinking a beverage during assembly ;o)**. Price was right and quality is really good. I recommend it!

These clam shell pieces go together easily. They slid right over my two 20lb LP tanks on our 2019 Jayco Jay Flight 287BHS. They will also fit over 30lb tanks if your camper is so equipped. The access door on the top works well. There are two plastic tabs underneath. I used a short bungee cord to secure the assembled covers to the tongue of my camper. The covers don't come with anything to secure the tank cover for highway use so you will need a bungee or rope of some kind. The covers never moved on our 75 mile trip from our driveway to the campground. My granddaughter "helped" me and assembly was so easy she helped with a cookie in one hand.

I lost my lid on the first trip.According to the wonderful Kim at Camco customer service, this happens a lot.The side you lock your hinges on also has some narrow holes for if you were to have the closing the other direction.You can use these extra holes in the cover to form a zip tie hinge, also acts as a tie down to not lose the lid.The threaded lock pieces need to really be shoved up into the cover so that they do not fall when you unscrew the top capture nut that pins the lid down. There is a detent you must make it past, and it takes quite the force to install.The instructions probably should emphasize these 'finer' points to this product's installation.It looks great and I am happy with the product otherwise. Would be 5 stars if the hinge and lock system was of a better durability design.

Kind of flimsy apart, but once it’s together it’s fairly sturdy, I opted for stainless steel hardware instead of the supplied steel hardware, just because I’m close to the coast.It’s color matched with the rest of the camper accessories.

Exactly what we wanted to cover our taller 20lb propane tanks on the front of our trailer . Black is what went with our trailer . Looks great and went in easy .

Bought a used 2004 fleetwood resort EXT, didn’t come with any LP gear or tanks. So I ordered some new LP lines and got some new 55 lbs tanks, also got a new longer tie down rod to fit the 55’ers. Didn’t get the cover for a few months and realized my brand new tanks were already beginning to rust from the rain, so I ordered this. Was a bit of a chore to assemble, but nothing crazy hard. Looks great and completes our LP Upgrade, definitely a happy camper now :)

The tank cover itself isn’t too difficult to put together. The access lid is a bit of a pain to put on. The whole thing fits fine over the tanks and has seemed to hold up well in the heat and intense sun of Denver, CO. I love the idea of having the access panel at the top. The one thing that I really don’t like are the thumb screws that are used to keep the access lid closed. We’ve lost 3 now since we first took our trailer out Memorial Day weekend. Camco sells the replacements but it’s $9.99 for two thumb screws which is ridiculously expensive especially since they’re so easy to lose. I wouldn’t buy this again.
