I bought this backup camera system to put on an older Tundra to aid with hooking up to trailers since the pickup did not have an integrated backup camera system. The camera system kit was very complete including various wiring options and even tie wraps and quick splice connectors, only pliers and screwdriver needed to install, no cutting of trucks wiring.Camera very easy to mount, even came with double sided tape to hold in place until license plate was screwed back on. The camera is small and very unobtrusive. There is an in-line pairing switch on the camera wiring which I tie wrapped to a frame member under the truck, so it was accessible if one knew where to look.The monitor is very light, under 5oz with antenna and pigtail and connects to the windscreen mount magnetically. The actual windscreen mount suction cup is good quality and so far, is still solidly in place after over a week in hot weather and over rough roads. The magnetic coupling of the monitor to the mount means one can easily take the monitor off the mount if it is in the way or to store out of sight when parked.The monitor originally had some issues shutting off after a minute or so. I e-mailed Yakry, and they responded the next day and ended up sending me a new unit which arrived within the week. I paired the new monitor to the already installed camera and the system works like a champ. The view from the camera is excellent and as one can see from the photos, it makes it very precise for lining up the trailer hitch without having to get in and out of the truck all the time to see how you are doing.I wired the camera to the running lights instead of the backup lights so I can always get a view of what is directly behind me even as I am driving down the highway. There is a power switch on the cigarette light power cord for the monitor so it can easily be shut off if the view is distracting. I would certainly recommend this backup camera system to anyone wanting to add this feature to their vehicle. I would certainly recommend Yakry as a company, since a good measure of a company is how they respond to problems and they were certainly quick in correcting the issue that I had.

My grandson just recently got his driver’s license and bought his first car. It being an older model did not have a backup camera. The overall safety of having a backup camera system was very important to me and to him as well. The Yakry Y24 HD 1080P Digital Wireless Backup Camera System appears to be the perfect solution. It comes with a beautiful 5 inch monitor and communicates wirelessly with the HD 1080P camera. The fact that you don’t have to run wires from the monitor to the camera is a big plus! The monitor can be fixed to the dashboard or windshield mounted. We elected to use the windshield mount which works perfectly. A car charger adapter (power cord) is supplied and can be plugged into any auxiliary power outlet (cigarette lighter) to power the monitor. Five minute install for the monitor.The camera itself may require more time but basically all you are doing is tapping into existing power at the back of your car. We mounted the camera on his license plate using the same mounting screw that attaches the plate to your car. We wanted to have the camera to only turn on when the car is placed in reverse, so we wired our camera to the backup lights. This camera system comes with what are called T-tap connectors which makes the wiring process much easier. You may feel a little uncomfortable doing the wiring yourself and making sure you have identified the wires you wish to use to power the camera. So you may want to visit your local auto mechanic to help you if you don’t think you can manage. We did the wiring ourselves with no problem.The image supplied is sharp, bright and stable. It provides a very wide viewing angle giving you the comfort of knowing what is directly behind your vehicle when backing up. It also has the option of displaying back up guide lines if you desire. The guidelines can simply be toggled on or off. The price point for this system is very reasonable and well worth the investment for safe driving. We have not experienced any problems thus far with system. It provides an excellent rear view image in rain or bright sunlight. We are very satisfied with the Yakry Y24 Camera System which earns a 5 star rating. I highly recommend this backup camera system.

I purchased this system for use in a Ford Explorer Sport to assist in hooking up a trailer to hitch. It's not used very frequently but should eliminate need for second pair of eyes or for in and out of cab to align the ball and hitch.Likes: easy install, great display, good picture quality....when it worksDislikes: When system is cool with morning temps system works well, for about 5-10 minutes. After display warms up it flashes between advertisement display and camera image, several cycles then defaults to ad. The display unit has thermal issues. If powered mid day when temp is 80 degrees or so the monitor fails to display camera image. Signal strength icon from camera is strong. It never works when I need it.Images are advertisement and late evening camera image during a rare moment of operation.Unfortunately I waited too long to return to Amazon.Update: After recommended tests, Yakry replaced the system under warranty. Replacement works as advertised, clear display, happy with purchase. Four stars due to hassle, but Yakry came through.
