I've been saving my kraken bottle for ages wanting to make a lamp for my bar. My husband and I were both very reluctant to drill a hole through the bottle for an integral lamp kit, so this one did the job nicely. You literally just twist the fitting into the neck of your chosen bottle, add a shade and voilà! I was unsure of what to do with the cable as it was just hanging loosely behind the bottle, so I used some command clips to train it down the back and make it tidier. From the front you don't see them at all, so this was a great solution for us. All in all happy with my purchase. Recommended for a quick way to make a quirky lamp!

I had been looking for a pre-wired lamp base kit and this one looked just perfect for my project. I’ve secured the base of the kit which had ‘fins’ to push inside the neck of a bottle but for me - I part drilled a hole into the cork bung of a terrarium bottle (17mm) and firmly screwed this kit into the cork. As the wire comes out neatly at the top - there is no need for a hole through the cork bung and the sealed terrarium remains fully sealed. Next step is activated charcoal layer, sand, soil, plants and moss etc but the video shows how it looks so far and - I’m delighted!

The cable is routed through the side of the bulb holder body?? Why! It's to go in a bottle top, how utterly rediculous! NO reason I can se not to come out of the bottom of the holder like any other normal light fitting... Look closely at the picture before buying...
