Q: What kind of grind is this?

I consider Lavazza Rossa a moka pot grind. It is finer than drip grind, but would work well for a small drip batch (e.g. 4 cup). Contrary to most replies here, I do not consider this fine enough for espresso extraction. in my experience (11 g in single-shot basket at 200F and 9.5bar pressure in ECM Classika), a single shot extracts too quickly (16 sec instead of desired 25 to 30 sec), producing a lightly sour shot. By espresso method, I can make a tolerable shot w/ 4 to 5 sec pre-infusion, though still too-rapid extraction and limited crema. I'd recommend sticking whole bean for espresso so you can calibrate the grind to optimize extraction time. For Lavazza Rosso, stick w/ the moka pot or use for small-batch drip needs.

Q: What is the current expiration/best buy date for your current cases? My last order I received expired within 3 months of receipt. Which blew! :(

I'm a new customer. The first coffee I bought from here WAS EXPIRED by 3 months. Regardless...it was the best coffee I ever had? So I bought a case on Amazon, exp. Next year, March I think. I tried that. Honestly, I liked the old stuff better! I heard the newer is stronger in flavor. Use less. Still liked old better...but that's me. Hope this helps.

Its a brick and once open ( of course) is a bag , best coffee ever!
