Klark Teknik MIC BOOSTER CM-2 2 Channel Dynamic Microphone Booster with Preamps

I've been using Cloudlifters for quite some time. I consider them the best in the industry still. Great sound and fantastic build quality. But they are expensive. The dual mic model is $250 and I can't afford $500 for my portable set up.I'm so happy to find these Klark. I thought there must be something wrong that they're only $50 for the 2 mic model. I'm so happy with my purchase. First, they are tiny compared to my cloud lifter...about 1/2 the price. I've used the with the Shure sm-7 , rode mic, and r20...absolutely no issues. Similar gain to the cloud lifter. No perceivable coloration. They are extremely well made, solid metal casing. Almost as good as the cloud lifter. For 1/5 the price, I grabbed 2 more.

This lets me plug in two low output dynamic mics to my interface without worrying about having enough gain and gain adjustment. The sound is excellent.However there's an issue with EMF interference, especially from nearby cell phones, as it doesn't appear to be shielded well. Since it is in a metal box, and even though the box is ungrounded, it should be a fairly effective EMF shield against RF. So it could be an issue within the design of the circuit itself.I don't know if the CloudLifter brand booster has better protection against EMF from a cell phones, but cell phones need to be kept away from this product to get clean sound.Overall I think its a solid 4 star product.

bought 2 of these for my podcast project, hooked up 4 mics to my rodecaster pro 2 and my mics were boosted about 25db, that means my gain control on my rodecaster had to be turned down and the back noise (hiss) were gone, when I was using the mics without this mic boosters I had my gain over 52db's, now I have my gain only in 25db's, great improvement for the sound quality of my podcast project.

What a deal. This does EXACTLY what a cloud lifter does for a fraction of the price!

I kept going back and forth on whether I should order this or the cloudlifter and I am so glad I did not fall for the cloudlifter scam! For less than half the price you get two amp boosters for the price of a single cloudlifter. I have been using this for my Shure SM7B and it works wonders. I totally recommend buying this and putting the saved money into a better microphone or interface!

I got this to support my two SM7Bs. I inserted between the mics and a Zoom F6 /interface/mixer/recorder. I got +25 dB in volume. But, I also got noisy, scratchy crackles. The F6 preamps were good enough for this project. But, I’d love to get that other 25 dB. The vendor accepted my return, no questions asked. So, I may try another brand.

Highly recommend! Got this because I started using a two-mic setup more and I this dual preamp seemed to be a great deal. This unit is actually higher output and lower noise floor than the single sE Dynamite in-line mic pre I've been using. Build is high quality and very sturdy.
