Decent Tiny Projector
This will be a mostly technical review. I had the Jakks EyeClops Mini Projector in my shopping cart for a couple weeks before I finally purchased it on Amazon. I bought it when it had gone down to 60% off, I figured, what the heck. It is a very small projector. The actual projector is 3.5" x 3.5" x 2". Yeah, it's that small. It's got composite in (yellow/red/white), a volume control, a headphone jack, a DC in, a focus control, and a single "on" button. It's resolution is 320x240. It makes a little bit of fan noise when it's on.This projector is not bright, I don't know the lumens, but it's not bright. If you have a dark room, it'll go 7-8 feet, don't expect more. If it has to compete with ambient light, that number goes down fast. I can lay on my bed and project on the ceiling from my computer, very comfortable for watching videos off hulu, youtube, etc... As I mentioned, resolution is 320x240, to put that in perspective, normal standard def TV is 640x480, so it's "half". Not horrible, not great. The projector's throw (D/W) is 2. That is, if it is 2ft back from a wall, it'll make a 1ft wide image. The color of an image produced is not completely consistent. 3 of the 4 corners are tinted with the LEDs creating the image. That is, a white projection will look white in the center, a bit red in one corner, blue, and green in two other corners. This effect is evident with images of solid colors, but for normal video playback, it's not that bad, you barely notice it.It has a standard tripod threaded socket on the bottom, but there is a layer of plastic below the threads, so some tripod mounts may be too short. It comes with a mount, though, that attaches to the huge battery compartment. Sure, you could plug it in, but where's the fun in that? Instead of the 4D batteries it recommends, I use a smaller 4xAA enclosure from Radio Shack that I wired to the correct DC jack. With 4 2500mAh NiMH rechargeable AA batteries I get about two hours of portable use. You should be able to get a cable to go from your iDevice to this projector online for under ten bucks. This is a small, inexpensive, durable (I dropped it the first day, still works fine, but it is, after all, a projector), and convenient projector that can be powered with batteries with a low resolution and low lumens that is fun for hobbies/projects, novel ways of showing videos and slides, and can probably stand up to kids well (not personally tested). It is not the home entertainment projector you want in your living room : )Personally, I love mine and am considering getting a 2nd, I mean, how can you not??

Not worth it.
Got this product and trusted the brand since we bought the EyeClops Night Vision Infrared Stealth Binoculars, which we love. The Eyeclops mini projector didn't produce enough light. We tried to focus the unit, even within 3-4 feet from the white door. We notice we had a better picture using the white door then our tan wall. I wanted to just turn on the unit and see if it powered up and that the lamp turned on. Unit powered up but no lamp. So, I got a replacement thinking the unit didn't work because I didn't see the lamp turn on. So, 2nd unit did the same. I decided to plug in a video source, XBox360 game console and finally the lamp within the projector turned on and we saw the image. In the instructions there is no word that there must be a video source plugged into it in order for the projector to product light(lamp). I wanted to use this projector for our Wii and XBox 360 but my son even complained about the picture quality. The unit claims it can cast an image screen size of up to 60". I didn't see how that can work and satisfy people. Focusing and lighting is its downfall. I do not recommend this item.

A Great Mini Projector
I bought this projector for my self about a month a go, and it has worked out fairly well for me. I attend a college where allot if not just about all the rooms have projectors so when I saw that I could get one, that was under hundred( or 50 for that matter) I though it was a great idea. I already under stood it wouldn't be the same quality one like in the classes room so that wasn't so much an issue. It does need a pretty dark setting like every one says, but who want a movie "night" in the day time anyway. The focus does work fairly well, even watching movies of lower quality wasn't to bad on it. Although if you are some one who watch's allot of movie or shows with subtitles you may have an issue. I tried to watch one show and although the focus was good to watch the Image the subtitles where still fairly blurry. You would either have to bring it closer to the your surface(which would make it small and defeat the purpose) your on or make the subs bigger. Which I couldn't do.My setup for this is usually either on my celling, which is texture but wasn't to much of an issue for the animated movie I was watching. It was fuzzy and it took me a bit to realize it was the celling texture and not the focus, but it was cool after that.I also sometimes put up one of my big 2XL T-shirts on the window with paper clips, and close the blinds. I've even just projected it on a wall above another TV in my apartments common area, which has fairly big windows, but at night it was no problem. I connect it to my Archos 5 Portable Video Player Device and connect my mouse to it and sit on my bed an watch it. I have yet to get it to with my computer due to the old RCA standard on it, and it may not really be worth it but that's my next goal, to play games with it.This product is great for those who just want to project something and watch it and are not to concerned with quality. If you don't already have a big screen TV(40",50",60"++), I would suggest this as a possible alternative. I would almost consider the this a novel idea or toy alternative to the real thing but it can be a pretty good cheap substitute.
