It is well worth the expense and time to thoroughly read through this and taking the helpful test questions on the CD in preparation for the actual exam. This is an excellent book to use in preparing to sit for the PMP (Project Management Professional) exam. At over 800 pages and with hundreds of sample questions this is the ideal companion to the PMBOK Guide (Project Management Body of Knowledge) when seeking to pass the exam. In addition each chapter includes assessment questions to reveal where you need to study, and labs to help with memorizing key information and terminology. It also incorporates the new changes to the PMP exam that are not in PMBOK Version 4.When you factor in the great price compared to other prep texts this is one book that every candidate needs.John Kinser, PMP

I don't need to write a lot about this book. I can sum up why you should buy this book pretty simply.This book was written by the PM on the project that last updated the PMBOK. So the author knows what she is talking about.The information is put together in a unique way where you don't work directly through the PMBOK, but you work more through the functional way that a project would work. So you are immediately able to grasp the information and see how it not only relates to the test and textbook, but how it relates to managing a project....which is going to help you a lot on the test.I went through a lot of different sources trying to find one that would let me get a leg up in my studies and this one was it...by far. I can't recommend this book strongly enough to someone getting ready to take the PMP.

Great book

Dummie manuals are always helpful

If you are preparing for PMP Cert. from the 5th edition of PMBOK, this book is for the prior (4th) edition. Having said that, the format and style of the book makes it easy to understand. The author has done a great job of breaking down the difficult concepts in an easy to understand manner.

I used this to study for the PMP exam and really liked how things were broken down in a different view. It really helped understand the knowledge areas and associated process groups.

After reading numerous PMP Prep books from Rita's to Head First, this really is the best book to use alongside the PMBOK guide. I would rank this book first for prep use, then Head First, then Rita's prep book. However, all depends on learning styles but this book in my opinion really is the best resource to use in breaking down the PMBOK guide. It also has the best price for those that want to learn or study for the PMP on their own. In addition, is available via Kindle not just print.

it is expensive for what it is. i expected a real help getting this and I got just the basics.

The book is well laid out and the questions in each chapter help to consolidate learning. It was recommended by a colleague who said that the book and CD helped him immensely when revising for his PMP exam.

Dies war mein erstes Dummies Buch, aber auch wenn es in Englisch erfasst worden war, konnte man sich einige Sachen erklären. Schön wäre es, wenn es noch einmal in der deutschen Sprache geben wird, dann werde ich es mir gern noch einmal kaufen.
