WOW!!!
I'm not sure who this Dan guy is but he definitely knows his stones. I don't have a ton of stones but this is BY FAR my nicest one now. It's a pleasure to use and a pleasure just to hold in my hand. Beautifully chamfered edges and an amazing deep deep pure black color with no imperfections...It's just a beautiful stone. My next will probably be the 6" x 2". I just wanted to check out a smaller one first for $35 before dropping a buck 30 or so on the bigger one. With my experience(very little) and all the other reviews I've seen. Dan seems to be the Man for some of the best sharpening stones in the world! B.T.W: This is strictly a POLISHING STONE similar to a leather strop(strop is easier to use). It does take a little time and practice to get good with these Black Arkansas Stones. I have a 6" x "2 Translucent Arkansas Stone and it took a while to get good with it. But once you do it puts this high polish mirror edge on my pocket knives I can't even believe sometimes. I actually like this little size stone to hand polish(moving the stone on the blade instead of the blade on the stone) tough to to get areas like the tip or maybe the heel. But again this is just meticulously polishing an already extremely sharp edge and this stone is perfect for that job

Beautiful Quality, Nice Pocket Stone
Great stone for that final "hone" or polish. I have a number of Arkansas stones, mostly larger ones but this is a handy little stone. Just recently I started using it to resharpen my Bic Shavers! It's small enough to fit within the "guides" of the Bic. Just wet with water the stone and Bic and then gently stroke the Bic in the opposite way you shave. Only takes maybe six or eight strokes. If you look through a magnifying glass you can see the angle that is needed, much the same angle you shave but in the opposite direction. Nice stone and I have always use water to sharpen my knifes and axes, works great, water is everywhere (spit), and there is no clean up.

hard and extra fine whetstone for finish
Dan’s whetstones are great for sharpening and grinding. black hard extra fine is perfect for finishing, with good hardness for long use and extra fine grits for smoothness. small size and pouch is perfect to carry around on-the-go.

best value for the money
This little stone is great. Highest quality and finest grit. This stone is better than the big double sided stones. Dont be fooled by its size. Great for everyday carry if you like to keep a sharp knife. I keep a little honing oil on mine and it keeps for a couple of days carrying it my pocket in its leather pouch before i have to add more.

Great stone but small
It's to small for using on table but perfect size for holding between thumb and index finger for touch ups in the field or if you enjoy sharpening your knives and axes in bed. I'm not saying that's what I do but if your into that kind of thing it's perfect.

Great stone
I use this stone for fine-tuning Triggers on 1911. It works wonderfully for polishing the Sear and the other parts to get that nice fine trigger pull.
