A taste of Paris
I brought a jar of the Maille Cornichons back from Paris this year and was determined to find some state-side. I had read that the ones found in the states are made in Canada and not as good. But, I found these absolutely delicious and will be buying more.

Extremely Sour
I guess I don't know what a French pickle is supposed to taste like, but these were extremely sour with no flavor that I could taste.

Decent
Not what I expected for the price, $15 for 2 jars. More of a vinegar flavor than mustard. Can purchase the same quality at local stores at a much cheaper price.

Quite the Pickle
These pickles are small, but they pack a punch! But then you really would have to eat a about two regular-sized dill pickles to end up with the same intense flavor as these babies. There's also this nifty little lift built into the jar so you can pull the pickles right up out of the brine, rather than having to stick a fork in there to fish them out. Cool idea!Dill pickles have been my favorite since I was a kid and would sit down and eat an entire dill pickle all by itself. These pickles are intensely dill with a nice sour bite to them. They are also crisp and have a great texture. I've nibbled on them to go with a burger and fries, and also added a couple chopped up into tuna salad. A little goes a long ways.Of course, they are not particularly cheap, especially as pickles go when you can usually get a giant jar of them for just a few bucks...but they are well worth it as a treat or even as a gift for the discerning pickle-lover among your family or friends. They would be great on a relish tray for a party. Go on--splurge a little and try these out!

You have to try them
Anyone who has been to France has to fall in love with French food. The cheeses, the wines, the bread and in this case the pickles! They are a little more sour than an American pickle, but once you accept the difference, these pickles are terrific. We eat them with raclette, the fabulous cheese to melt and enjoy with bread or potatoes. I am so grateful to be able to get cornichons here. Maille also makes great dijon mustard.
