Firman Generators ECO1500 Gas Generator

I purchased this product on June 2018, I had it in a box until recently when I decided to take it out and start it to see how it works as a hurricane heading my. I followed the instructions on how to start the unit, the amount of oil to put in the engine, etc... I started the unit and it turned on without any issues, until I noticed an oil drip coming from the top of the unit. Unfortunately the unit way pass the return period, now I have to take this unit apart to find out what is causing the oil leak.If you plan to purchase one of these, make sure to test it right away. I recognized is my fault not to have tested the unit when I received it, but on the same token, an unit should not be leaking oil the first time you turned it on. People order these units to use them in case of an emergency, they should be 100% in working conditions when they are shipped to customers.

Started it up and it ran about 5 minutes before a part of the engine broke off spewing oil all over. Past the Amazon return period of course, but Firman is checking on the warranty. Will update this when I hear back.

Won't buy it.
