I discovered that the reason for the crack in my old case. It was the non Apple lightning charger I was using that is a little bigger at the base than the Apple ones and so it flexes the case out on the front a little. Luckily on this case the bottom is rubber and flexible so I don't fear it breaking like my Otter Box did. Very happy with this case, protects my phone just as well as others I have had that cost 3Xs as much. The only down side is like the Otter box the rubber sleeve and then plastic shell makes the spot around the camera lens a little deep. Pocket dust and and stuff likes to gather up in there and it can make cleaning a little annoying. Kind of a combination of steam punk meets aerospace engineering. Just a little overreaction.The case that was on my phone when it broke, looks somewhat similar to the Obliq Xtreme, but it was of a softer material. When the phone hit on edge, the soft case compressed enough to nick the edge of the screen - and it was all over.
