I needed a pair of spreader lights for my '78 Hunter 27 sailboat. The original "tractor light" fixtures had failed, one was hanging by the wire, the other was missing (went over the side in a storm), so while the mast was down for repairs I rewired and updated to full LED lighting aloft. That meant I needed some replacements for my spreader lights that were plenty bright but lightweight and made for weather exposure. This led me to these lights. The current draw was minor, especially relative to the lighting they were replacing, which made me happy because I over-sized the wire (14 ga) to allow the new lights to work well while also making the wiring more robust than originally installed material (which was intended for the incandescent bulbs that take far more electricity to operate). These wired up well, and the wiring for them comes sheathed in a shroud that keeps things tidy while giving you some UV protection for where the wires depart the casing.The light casing is pretty solid and thick aluminum, and the version I purchased was painted white. The paint looks to be powder coating in fact, and is pretty thick. The lights don't weigh much either, a real bonus in a mast-located light fixture. I wired everything up, and then decided to test the circuit. I held the ends of the line (I added 50 feet of wire to the lights in the mast itself) to the battery of my truck and nearly blinded myself.They are BRIGHT. VERY bright. Maybe too bright for the use, but maybe it will save me one day from being clobbered by a larger boat while I am fishing one night, too. No way someone will be able to say they did not see me if they even glanced into that zip code sort of bright.I don't know if they are legal to use on cars, but if so, they would be definitely bright as heck for a car/truck as long as you aimed them properly. They are far too bright to be used in headlight mode, though. Don't even consider that use.I do not yet have enough time with them to make statements about water resistance, but will update in a while after I have useful content about that. Did I mention they are bright?

It Is avery clean line and look, Nice and bright , The install on my Highlander spoiler was not to bad ,I need more light to back up and see where i was going in the dark driveway. the bracket is just a painted piece of metal I had to use better bolts, I used S/S Carriage bolts, Had to fish the wire, All worked out well..

The media could not be loaded. The lights themselves seem decent enough, painted aluminum housing, good light output for moderate close range flood lighting. I'm using the pair mounted on my hardtop to light up the aft deck of my boat and they are perfectly adequate for that job. At 18 watts, for my 12 volt craft they will consume about 1.5 amps each, significantly less than the Hella halogens they are replacing, for about the same or better light output.The included mounting hardware however leaves much to be desired. Firstly, the bracket is neither stainless or aluminum and is strongly magnetic so is obviously steel, however it does appear to have a decent coating on it. Probably ok for freshwater applications but I wouldn't use it near saltwater. I used the brackets from my old lights which amazingly did fit. Second, the nuts and bolts while having the appearance of stainless steel are also much more strongly magnetic than you would expect (see video) so clearly an inferior alloy.Also the method of attaching the mounting bracket could be better thought out. I got it done, but it involves placing a tiny nut in a recess in the housing while trying to line up the bracket and screw. Takes a bit of fiddling and may be frustrating for those with low dexterity and/or patience. Also the provided allen wrench if a bit longer would ease the task somewhat.How waterproof these are remains to be seen. The way I have them mounted, pointing downwards at about a 45 degree angle, makes the entry of the wire point up, so if they are going to leak I should know fairly soon. The entry point of the wire into the housing does not instill confidence that it is well sealed, but it's too soon to say. I'll update this review if I find they take on water.In summary, I like the look and light output just fine, but was glad I could use my old good quality stainless bracket for mounting instead of using the included inferior quality hardware.

I think that these lights are very bright. Installation was easy. I have not had them in the water yet , but they look well made

I haven’t installed these yet so I don’t know how bright they are but I can give general impressions. The casting seems pretty solid and overall high quality. If they hold up for a couple years I’ll be pretty pleased. Very excited to get these wired up on the boat!

Package very well. Very bright for a small light. Will work well for my application.

Very hard to attach the mounting brackets to the light. The tool included is not very adequate. White paint coming off of light before even fully installed. I doubt these will last long on my boat.

These were purchased September 2021 and installed April 2022 on our pontoon boat.We used them once in 2022 and they worked fine.Not super bright but better than the old lights.Just tried them yesterday and one light has one element out and the other has 3 out.What does this say about product quality?Not impressed that I have to replace them already.I would not recommend these lights.
