Review: Very convenient transmitter that sounds great with a little tweaking! - UPDATE: At the seller's request, I spent more time with this product to see if I could figure out how to reduce the sibilant noise. The seller recommended I try a different FM station which only made me think they didn't understand the problem. I already had a clean station that works fine with my current transmitter. Why would a different station produce better results on s sounds? But, as I really like the conveniences of this transmitter, even though their suggestion seemed unhelpful, I gave it another go because I really want this unit to work. I googled "open fm frequencies" and found a couple recommended stations for my zip code. The results of my tests, which I describe next, were the same regardless of the FM station. There were differences though, so it is worthwhile to try several. The differences in FM stations were mainly in how quiet the silence was. So I should think it best to start by finding the FM station that's quietest for your vehicle in the zip codes in your commute. By this I mean, set the radio and transmitter to the first recommended station and turn the car radio volume up. Then try the next station and compare to find the quietest. If your car's FM tuner has a signal strength indicator, this next step is a bit more scientific. My Honda has a "ST" indicator that goes out if the stereo signal fades. I set the Bluetooth volume on my phone to max, turned the car radio volume to near zero and the transmitter volume to max, then played a song with vocals containing the "s" sound. With the car volume low it was very easy to see the "ST" disappear whenever the sibilant "s" sound occurred. Even if I couldn't hear the distortion, I could see the stereo signal disappear. For why this occurs, google "Why is the s sound the most distorted on bad radio signals" So, now I had a repeatable, objective way to observe the problem. Leaving the phone volume at max, I then began reducing the transmitter volume until the ST no longer went out. This occurred about 21/22 for the particular songs I was testing with. I then turned the car radio volume up to a fairly loud level and listened. The s distortion was still noticeable, and I ended up turning the volume down to between 15 and 18. This still provided plenty of volume for my car radio and the distortion was nearly undetectable. Certainly good enough. For some songs that just need to be louder, I would certainly say crank the transmitter volume. But then return it to the sweet spot around 15 to 18. Then I compared the sound I was now getting to my original Coby (which just sounds great but is no longer available). I found that the music sounded just about as full, but with a cleaner signal, better stereo separation and better clarity, which you would expect from Bluetooth. So now, what I had hoped for is true: This transmitter does the job. I can recommend it to friends as well as pick up a couple more for my other vehicles. ORIGINAL REVIEW: 3 stars - Picked this one based on positive reviews. Does key things well - pairs quickly and automatically; next and previous song buttons work as expected; using blue tooth, sound is much clearer than using an audio cable in headphone port. Compared to my current FM transmitter, and old Coby unit, it's much more convenient as it automatically connects. The only issue is the sound quality at high frequencies. Sibilants (s-sounds, hissing) come through quite distorted. For some songs are unlistenable. Piano music, for instance, wouldn't be affected. Vocal music likely is. I'm comparing this with my current FM transmitter which doesn't produce this distorted s-sound affect at all. Sound I'm surprised this one does, and that no one has mentioned it in a review, good or bad. Wondering if I received a defective unit. Have used it for two days. and will see if the distortion becomes too irritating to keep this product.
Review: it’s perfect for those who have a old car stereo with no Bluetooth or aux capabilities - This is amazing, I honestly didn’t even know there was such a thing I was given a car for my dad, but it’s an old car from 2007 so it didn’t have anything but a CD player/radio, I’ve had that before and other cars, but they had the aux cord option so I never really ran into needing to look for something different. Originally, I was going to look for a new radio, but having to put money into the car to get it fixed to be able to pass inspection, I didn’t really have the money to throw into a radio as well, plus nowadays it’s kind of hard to find somewhere that sells car, radios, and installs them at least where I live. so I started googling to see if I could find anything that I could use to be able to connect my phone to my radio because I absolutely hate my local radio stations. I originally was looking for something like a CD that had Bluetooth on it, but I couldn’t find anything but came across this item and decided to give it a shot. it is super nice. It’s easy to connect. It took me literally just a few seconds to connect to my phone and the radio. You just tune the regular radio to the same station that you have it on with the device, and Bluetooth connects in a matter of seconds. I love that it automatically turns on as long as it’s plugged in and connect to your phone so that way, I don’t have to sit there and connect it and turn it on every time I get into the car, I also love that it has the option to skip a song on the device itself so that way I don’t have to pull out my phone. My steering wheel has a volume option button, but it doesn’t have a skip option so I can’t control it from my steering wheel when I want to change the song, I also like that there’s a pause option if you tap the middle button that you connect with a Bluetooth to pause your music rather than having to pull out your phone. Overall, I have no complaints about this device. I’ve never really had any issues with static as of yet or any other type of weird feedback. There is one time I heard a weird little noise, but it was so quick. I don’t even know if it was from that or my car or something outside and I’ve only heard it once so I can’t even say for sure but as of now there’s no complaints whatsoever and definitely was worth the money and I would definitely buy again if I ever run into having another car that doesn’t have Bluetooth or an aux capability

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What does it say when you plug it in and what does it say when you connect a phone ? Sounds like it's in Chinese ??**
A: Hi,Here is the answer I got from the seller that I did test and work to change back to English from Chinese:"Hi,As for the issue that can't get the Bluetooth to sync with phone, wondering can you try remove all the blutooth device on your phone and re-connect it again? And for the isut that it changed to Chinese, can you try remove the Bluetooth connection by shutting off the phone. The volume knob should be blinking, indicating 'Bluetooth Unconnected'. Hold the volume knob down for five seconds, then release. Remove power from the device by switching the ignition key off (Note: If 12V is still present at the accessory outlet, you will need to unplug the device). Reapply power to the device. The message voice should be toggled to English if it was previously in Chinese (or vice versa)."I found out why my Nulaxy was not pairing due to not compatible with HUaWei Smart Watch. When my smart watch is connected I have to go to the BT menu and manually pair to connect it.

**Q: can you leave this plugged in or will it drain battery?**
A: It depends on the car, for example, my 2003 Ford Taurus will power the unit after the car is off (draining the battery), but my 2014 Toyota Camry won't power it when the car is off. A good way to test if it will drain your battery is to plug a phone charger and see if it charges with the car off and key removed. If it does, it will drain your battery, if it doesn't charge, then it won't.

**Q: my car is an old car, so it does not have an usb adapter or a aux connector, would this work on my car anyway?**
A: Yes, as long as it has a cigarette lighter 12 volt outlet .... it plugs in. Then simply find a station that has nothing playing on the radio and then set your transmitter to that same station. You can play songs off your phone, stream IHeart radio or Pandora by using blu-tooth or simply use a 3.5mm audio connector cord .... it plugs into the transmitter and your older MP3 players headphone jack.

**Q: my car does not have aux out put....will it work?**
A: I think you mean aux input. But, the short answer is yes. like the other 2 mention, this can work off of radio waves. The there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack (basically your farily standard headphone jack on *most* devices) on this device so you 'can' use almost any form of item with a 3.5 mm Jack such as a 3.5 mm Jack to cassette adapter if your car still has a tape deck. But, you can use the fm function too if you want. Like nulaxy explains, the transmitter does 87.5 fm to 108.0 fm, but you'll want it to be on a clear frequency. I often just use 88.1 fm due to the fact that I know for the most part, most radio stations won't be transmitting on that frequency, unless it's a drive in movie theater or a certain special event or something like that. If you've got a working cigarette lighter port, often called theses days as a 12 volt power port in your vehicle, it should work.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ May Need To Be Uninstalled in Some Vehicles When Not In Use
*by D***Y on July 29, 2026*

This product was tested in two vehicles. The first, a 2001 VW Beetle and the second, a 2009 Mini Cooper. The adapter worked as expected in both to stream Bluetooth music from my iPhone over an unusued FM station on the receiver in each vehicle. Sound was not as good as the stock head unit, but it was still good and provided a nice workaround for hands-free calling and streaming music. Pairing with the device was as easy as turning on the Bluetooth on my phone after plugging the adapter to power it up. The controls are intuitive and easy to use. The VW did not power down the adapter. The lights stayed on the adapter even when the car was turned off, and since that would wear down the battery, I unplugged it. Not ideal, but according to the manual, some vehicles require disengaging the adapter. The Mini powered down the socket where the adapter was plugged in, and thus could remain installed in the vehicle. Microphone quality was OK, and having a USB port on the adapter for charging was something I looked for and was happy to have. Overall, a good purchase and something I should have bought years ago! I will be replacing the original radio in the VW with a Bluetooth stereo this week, but for the Mini - this is perfect, and a cheap way to add Bluetooth connectivity to older cars and trucks that have a cigarette lighter port within easy reach of the driver.
