A Desert Scrapbook: Dawn to Dusk in the Sonoran Desert

Beautiful way to introduce the desert habitat to my kindergarten aged son. He really enjoyed the book. I think it was partially the way the author bring the reader along on a day in the desert, and the beautiful illustrations. We have our own family nature journal, which is a fairly new thing for us, so this book has really inspired us in that. I love books that encourage us to be outside and give educational information without feeling overwhelming. Virginia Wright-Frierson books definitely have a special way of sparking interest in new subjects and I highly recommend them!

What an amazing book. My mother is an artist who just moved to the Sonoran Desert (Sierra Vista, AZ) and was thrilled to receive it as a birthday present. The book arrived on time and in perfect condition!!

This is a great book! A wonderful example of nature journaling. I love the variety of critters and plant life included...so much in the desert!

I use this book at school when we are learning about the Sonoran Desert. I love the scrapbook style and the real connections the author makes. I use it to encourage my students to keep a nature journal.
