The ankle padding - so thiccc
Great looking shoe. Looks durable, sole is great for platform pedals.I'm a size 13, wide-ish foot and the 13 fits great so it seems to fit as expected.HOWEVER, the very generous padding on the ankle is incredibly thick. It immediately created pressure on either side of my Achilles tendons and I had to pull the ripcord- returning the shoe.If you have thin ankles, or need alot of support on your ankles, I think this would be a great shoe.

wait and see
3.5-4 starsOverall the shoe is lighter and yet seems potentially stronger than a 5-10 shoe which costs much more.Based on reviews, ordered half size larger and full size larger (than a size 9). Full size larger was too big. 1/2 size larger only feels a bit large so maybe true size is OK?The tread is thin, so hope it lasts. The shoe seems like a solid and durable build - but time will tell. It's pretty comfortable walking and very comfortable riding. The mesh above the toe protection lets random plant seeds/thorns through to the sock on occasion. The biggest con is that they are a bit difficult to get on my feet. Because it's a fairly "high top" the laces need to be loosened pretty far down the shoe to slip on but the type of laces with tight grommets make loosening a bit of a chore - and then tightening takes effort too. Plus, the process is easier if you first undo the velcro strap completely out of the buckle. I'm not convinced the velcro strap serves any purpose beyond securing the tied shoe laces so I may cut them off to add bit of ease for getting the shoe laces adjusted for going on and off.

Great deal!
I got these as they're last year's model and more affordable. I thought the Velcro and higher ankles would offer more stability and support since I do a lot of trials riding. I'm thoroughly pleased with this shoes so far. Super comfortable, supportive, gives good pedal feel, great grip, everything I was looking for. Sizing wise, they're slightly snug for a 12 compared to my usual shoes, but feel fine once they broke in (which actually only took like a day at work and 1 ride).I've only had them out for a handful of rides, so no comment on durability yet. I'm hoping they hold up well, my last pair were Leatt's and they didn't make it 6 months before the soles started separating. That was surprising as I normally love that brand. I'm hoping these RC shoes far surpass that.

Quality Shoe, Would Buy Again
There were not any reviews when I purchased these and that worried me. I have never spent over $80 on shoes so $120 worried me. I have not worn flat shoes since I skated 15 years ago so that worried me. I wanted a mid-high top shoe and an velcro strap was a plus. These were the only ones available that I could find. I took a gamble and won this one.I normally wear Nike 11.5 for athletic shoes and size 12 for casual. I ordered these in 11.5 and when I first put the shoes on, they were so tight. I kept them on in my house for a few hours and they loosened up a bit. Still on the snug side, but they no longer hurt to wear. Took them out for the first time and my midfoot was killing me for the first 30 minutes. After that, they were fine. The sides near the ankles have so much cushion and they taper down which feels like my heel is "locked" in. The grip was insane, my feet did not slip once. No dirt or sand got in my shoes. Very nice shock-absorbent padding. I normally ride with sneakers so can't compare to other MTB shoes but I would purchase these again.

Seems to be a very well made shoe.
Overall, the shoes seem very well made. They have a very good sole and fit well. I did order a 1/2 size larger then I normally ware, per a number of the reviews. All in all, a very solid MTB shoe.

Yes, do order a size bigger.
So going on most reviews, I ordered 1 full size up. I wear 10.5 so I ordered an 11.5. When I first put on the shoes they felt tight and I immediately thought I'd have to order a 12 and was annoyed with possible extra shipping expenses and wondering why the company would label their sizes this way. I left the shoes on in the house for about an hour to stretch them out and they did improve. Today I wore them on a 2 hour, 10 mile ride in mid 30s temperature. They felt comfortable and my feet weren't really cold. I think the design is gorgeous and I'm happy with the purchase. I wish the company would standardize their sizes so the consumer doesn't have to play games and guess what might fit.

Great shoes so far! A lot of support and very grippy!
Very comfortable, great value since I got mine on sale, and a ton of ankle stability which I definitely need. I wear a size 10 and they fit perfectly. They definitely help with grip, a major upgrade from my last shoes.
