I have small dogs who are older and are on various medications. Because of their size, I spend more time than I would like slicing pills. This pill slicer is great because it's easy to use and holds the pill in place really well. It even works well on smaller pills that I need to slice into fourths. I'm on my second one and they last a good long while. I definitely recommend for your pill slicing needs.

This is a great product. It works really good. No difficulty cutting my thick pill. I ordered an extra one. It fits in a small purse or backpack. Super easy to use. I would recommend.

While this pill cutter originally worked well and it was nice that half of the pill got put into a little tray for you to immediately grab while the other one stays in a more contained area, one thing I don't like about it is that it seems after a few uses the blade gets fairly dull and I'd say after two to three months of using it roughly three times a week, the pill cutter can no longer evenly / reliably cut pills in half. It will crush them for sure. However, I feel due to the dullness of the blade now that often the pills aren't cut exactly in half, which kind of defeats the purpose. I'm sure this is an issue that other pill cutting devices end up facing, so that's why I only took off one star. If you could somehow replace the razor blade in this with a new one, so it was nice and sharp, it would be five stars all day. Sadly, the only issue I find with it is also the main reason to have it, which is cutting pills evenly in half.

This pill cutter has a sharp blade that cuts clean and evenly and keeps the pill inside after cutting, no more pills flying around from use of past ones I've used. Pricing was less than half of the Pharmacy prices and shipped fast. This is not a cheap made product, others in the past cracked the plastic easy but this one is made better. Great size for travel and it holds a few pills inside for storage if you want to keep some pre-cut ones in the holder.

This pill splitter works. It takes a bit of getting accustomed to. I have round pills. For my pills, I put pressure while also keeping it from closing all the way. This prevents it from shattering the two halves into smaller pieces. When you close it all the way the pieces bounce around inside causing the halves to crack and chip. Done right, it makes failry perfect halves.

The pill will be cut! I have five sizes and this unit cuts them all. The unit is plastic with an embedded razor knife attached to one of the two piece clamshell. The unit opens by placing your fingers at the "button" end of the unit. You will feel two "bumps" AKA "bosses". Place a thumb on one boss and index finger of the same hand and push your fore finger against the other boss while pushing the thumb in the other direction. By this slight twisting motion the clamshell will open. Don't use much force as the unit may go flying. The blade should be in the UP portion of the clamshell. Directly below the blade is where the pill is positioned. Lower the blade until it contacts the pill. Then move you fingers out of the clamshell and while holding the bottom portion of the clamshell with one hand, lower the blade to cut the pill with the other. The cut is very smooth when the cutter is first used. As it ages it will become dull. Time for a new unit as the blade is not replaceable. This is my first time with this unit. It is OK but cuts only one pill at a time. I am interested in how long until I need to change the blade. It does the job though! If they provided a small plastic holder where you could place this unit into it to hold it, it would help the design a lot. It is hard to get a big hand around the unit. If it could clip into a 4" square x .0625" thick plastic base it would allow the unit to be held firmly by one hand as the other cuts the pill. There would be no "skidding across the table" when the unit gets away from you. The unit is very affordable IF the cutter does stay sharp for a long time. The design and price are correct for its performance.

This pill splitter is small & compact & does what it is designed to do. However, it is a bit flimsy, so I don't expect any longevity from this. It has a small blade that does cut your pill in half but again, it is not overly sharp limiting the longevity. For the price it is acceptable.

3 stars and a but. I'm 82 and feeling and steadiness in hands not really good for using this, another but I found nothing or Amazon that would help without spending a lot more. First difficulty is opening it up, the two very small protusions are too small for those of us with worn out touch. Secondly if you have to cut those 18 mm x 8mm tabs they not only don't move into the opening pocket for the one half tab the dust from the cut comes out toward your hand as the cut area is not deep enough. And then of course you cuss as both halves don't come out easily. It's not time saving with large pills. It does work great for small pills but most pills today are being reduced in size to less than standard size aspirin. I doubt that with the force needed to split and not really cut those tabs it will work for long.
