This has worked very well for both British DVDs and North American DVDs. It was easy to set up and I haven't had any trouble playing any DVDs.I do have two small issues: the disk tray doesn't always open. I can hear it try, but nothing happens. When I press it with my finger it pops right open. Also, the "on" coding is the same as my Christmas lights so when I turn one on the other turns on as well. Obviously not anyone's fault. I'm still giving it five stars because they are not big enough issues to bother returning it when it works perfectly 99% of the time. A worthwhile purchase!

Best buy ever! Arrived quickly. Set up easily. Plays perfectly. For $35.90, could not be happier! !Of note:(1) DVD player is light and compact and can sit on top of other TV-related devices..(2) need to know your TVs resolution and designate it during DVD Player set up.(3) no whirring sound after playing 14 DVDs and 50 episodes.(4) remote buttons are small and seem unresponsive at first touch. Solution: (a) have a direct line of sight between remote and player, and (b) press button for function you want, then wait an extra second or two for that function to occur.

Gave as a Christmas gift and was just used for the first time this weekend. Player has loud vibration, screen is grainy black and white with dark lines across the screen even when no dvd inserted.

It is compact, and it does play disc we brought back from Asia. Also, it is relatively inexpensive for a multi regional player. To be picky, my complaint is that the play quality is not high. If you demand very good quality image, this may not be your choice.Update: If you press the remote controller button "Setup", then go to the "Video" tab, and then go to "Resolution", you may actually change the setting to a higher resolution. The default is 576i. If you just pick 576p, the next choice down, it already would improve the quality of the images significantly. I tried going down all the way to 1080, but the difference is not very noticeable on my 50" TV.

Purchased as a Christmas present.

I just opened the box a few minutes ago and my mind was going "here we go"...expecting failure. I had recently accidentally bought a couple of European DVDs sold on Amazon Marketplace...they didn't work ...and I notice that many if not all of the music DVD lessons are sadly unclear as to the Format and even information about whether the product is coming from North America, or Europe. European DVDs do not usually work on North American machines.Anyway...EUREKA. Spent $42 Canadian dollars...it arrived promptly, and it plays the other formats. I am tickled pink. I may have to reduce some of my objections to Amazon's marketing model.If you have a similar issue my recommendation is......BUY THIS!

Tres bonne machine pour les films et dvd videos.Une seule déception, il ne joue pas les vidéos Mp4, ou est-ce moi qui m'y prend mal? J'en ai gravé 200 sur une cle USB.Je vois les titre mais le vidéo ne part pas. Je les ai copié sur un dvd + r et - r sans succès. J'en ai gravé une vingtaine sur un CD sans plus de succès. Pourtant le manuel dit qu'il lit les Mpeg4????

Moi j'ai beaucoup d'animation japonaise qui proviens du japon et d'Europe j'ai fait des teste avec plusieurs dvd présentement il y à aucune problème tout fonctionne parfaitement l'image est bien le song est bon ..il à la télécommande qui est un peut petite et les bouton sont plus dure mais c'est pas très grave . je suis satisfait.

Cet achat est récent. Il est utilisé pour la lecture de DVD de zone 2 (France) uniquement.L'aspect positif (+): Le prix d'achat incluant le câble HDMI.L'aspect négatif (-): L'appareil est bruyant. La qualité de l'image ne se compare pas à un Bluray. La manette a de très petits boutons et le menu affiché à la télévision n'est pas convivial. (Not user friendly)Concernant la durabilité et la fiabilité aucun commentaire car l'achat est trop récent.Lieu d'utilisation est le CanadaFinalement, c'est le coût attrayant qui incite à choisir cet appareil.

The product did not play my international DVDs and some of the buttons on the remote device didn't work. It was poorly manufactured as well. It was just a bad piece of equipment and I wouldn't buy this product again, especially from this distributor. The return policy for the company was terrible.
