Great with Boon Lids
These are perfect for my 2 year olds! I was tired of the overflowing sippy cup cabinet, so I donated them all, and bought 4 Cub Cups. They stack, they're elegant, and the kids love to drink out of them. I love that my five year old can use them without a lid, and my 2yr olds can have a silicone lid when we aren't at the table. They don't stain or get yucky.I ended up with the Boon Silicone lids 3pk to go on these. They fit great & minimize spills, but I wouldn't trust a younger toddler with that combo. They are super cute and mine love them! *** Update: We still like our Boon lids (and we push straws through the spouts of them). We finally had a lid casualty after using these for six months. It's just a tiny slit, and we just pull it further onto the cup. I'm probably going to purchase the Blossom lids, but for now I don't know much about them.***We also tried using SiliSkins lids with the Cub Cups - save your money. They are too tight of a fit, and one of ours got a hole after using for a week. The Cub Cups are not sharp when drinking out of them, but the lip presses on the SiliSkin lid at a stress point. These cups are sturdy. They have not dented from being dropped on tile. They fit well in small hands. They are small, which is fine with me. 8oz is to the brim of this cup. 6oz is about what I can pour without them being too full for the kids to carry.*** Update: To the people who say they stick together after washing, you just need to leave them unstacked until dry. I hand wash mine. I leave them upside down and unstacked on a tea towel, because my kids use them all the time. They still look great after six months of daily use. ***

Love these cups! UPDATED ***WORK GREAT WITH UCAP BLOSSOM LIDS
UPDATE #2: Based on another review, I bought some Boone lids for my Cub Cups, but frankly they are way too thin and soft for this type of cup. The tear and split very easily, even on other cups we own. I contacted the seller for suggestions on the lid and they recommended the Blossom Mason and Canning Jar Storage Lid Caps, Silicone, For Standard Size Mason Jars, 3.5-Inches; Clear; Set of 4.I picked up a 4 pack of 3.5 inch clear lids and poked holes in them (with a scissor) for silicon straws. There are blue UCap lids with precut straw holes but we wanted clear so we just cut the holes ourselves. ***See pics*** These lids stand up to EVERYTHING and absolutely no problems with leaks or splitting/tearing.Hope this helps everyone frustrated with Boone lids!Blossom Mason and Canning Jar Storage Lid Caps, Silicone, For Standard Size Mason Jars, 3.5-Inches; Clear; Set of 4UPDATE: I noticed a question about the cups maybe being too sharp for the little ones. In my opinion they are great! The thickness of these cups are comparable to a child's stainless steel spoon. ***I've posted a couple of photos so you can make your own comparison. And as I previously stated, they are great for preventing dribbles. We avoid using plastic as much as possible, but we were ready for our kids to stop using bottles and start using regular cups. We tried some smaller glass cups, but after two broken glasses in one week, we decided to go for steel. We bought three different types (see pic), but the Cub Cups are our favorites for several reasons.First, we bought some 8 ounce cups by a well-known company, but they had small bases and the kids tipped them over really easily. We weren’t crazy about the mirror finish and they didn’t stack well in the cabinet. But they were steel so we stuck with them for a while. Then we tried a set of cups from another reputable company. The kids liked them, but they were a little small and the rounded base also made them fairly easy to tip over. Finally, we got a set of Cub Cups by Caveman Cups. Bingo! Seems like this company really focused on creating a solid, basic cup just for young kids. We don’t like a lot of flashy colors of logos on our kid’s stuff so these cups were right up our alley. The brushed finish is cleaner and softer looking than we have seen before and the size and shape is far better than any other cups we’ve tried. Also, the thinness of this particular stainless steel cup is perfect for even the youngest little cubs. They prevent them from dribbling juice down the front of their shirts which I believe gives them added confidence when learning how to drink from a cup!Overall, an awesome product and a very service oriented company. Glad to support a “Green Mommy” business.

8/22/2016 updated design review of rolled lip
The media could not be loaded. 8/22/2016 UPDATEThe company sent me the newest version of these cups to replace the old ones. The new version solves a lot of the issues we had with the old version. I'm updating to 5 stars from 4 because of the updated design. The major difference I can tell from the new design is that the lip is rolled more. It's not a total roll, which is probably actually more hygienic than a rolled lip because there's no crack for stuff (milk, juice, smoothie) to get into and grow mold. The weight of these cups is excellent. They are much heavier duty than the other brand we have. I love the heavier weight. We definitely still need tops for these in our house. My 3 year old knocked her cup over twice tonight at dinner. The company told me in an email that they are developing their own tops that are going to be more durable than the Boon tops we've been using. I put a Boon top on my daughters' cups tonight and they work--no tears yet.The updated design definitely addresses our major issue--the sharp lip. I'll update again if anything comes up! I uploaded photos comparing the old and new as well as some shots just of the new design.--------ORIGINAL REVIEW OF OLDER MODEL CUPS: We ordered these cups for my toddlers because we want to keep as much plastic out of our house as possible. We also liked the idea that we could have a great-quality cup that can last for years. We have a bunch of stainless steep cups for our own use and love them. When these arrived, I was immediately worried that the lip would be too sharp for my kids. It's not a rolled lip or even a rounded/soft lip. Instead, it's seriously sharp. My kids didn't drink from the cups at first. I think a major reason is that the lip is just too sharp and skinny for them (they will drink from other cups). The lip is slightly fluted to help direct the liquid and for ergonomic reason, I suspect. The other issue we had was that these were hard for my 3 year old and 1.5 year old to hold because they are completely flat along the sides...nothing to grip. So, we took thick rubberband bracelets and put them on the cups to help provide a gripping surface for the kids. This helped until they wanted to play with the rubberbands!Putting colorful rubberbands on the cups also helps to distinguish which cup is which so the kids don't mix up their cups.A last note is that the cups do get chipped around the lip. I uploaded a video so you can see what I mean. The chipping/denting is bothersome because it makes the cups uncomfortable to drink from. I'm not sure how they got chipped. My kids do drop them a lot, but we have hardwood floors. These cups would be excellent for older kids...and my kids are using them more as they get older and more used to them.UPDATE: After seeing another reviewer suggest Boon silicone lids, I ordered some. After 3 weeks of using them, the lip of the cup has torn the lid. Again, it's a sharp lip and not a rolled lip. I uploaded a photo for you to see. So, no more silicone lids with these cups. I'm still giving them 4 stars but will just not use our silicone lids with the cups. I ordered another steel cup brand that does have a rolled lip and those will be our lid cups.
