Aliyes Handmade Professional Solid Wood Electric Cello 4/4 Full Size Silent Electric Cello-1601

I've owned my Aliyes cello for about a year and a half. The basics like the frame, scroll, bridge, etc. are all quite good, to the point that I would buy this unit again if necessary. This is a practice "stick" and one use when I travel so I don't really expect or need much.The travel bag is awful. Both zippers broke irreparably within five zips so I tossed the bag. That's not a big deal to me because my accoustic cello has a gig bag that works fine but you'll probably need to replace the bag early.The side bumpers are not well made but I fixed them by drilling through the frame and using metal screws.The bow I received is somewhat warped at the end.The bridge is fine but, as with many new cellos, it is much too high. For $20, I had a local luthier bring it down.Pegs and fingerboard have been fine but the telescoping part of the tailpiece began vibrating so I had to buffer it (using tape).The on-board preamp has never impressed me by itself but it's not bad when I plug it into my floor amp.My biggest problem with the preamp was that the "aux in" side malfunctioned although I believe part of that was caused by rough handling in a recent trip on a plane.HOWEVER . . . the preamp issue is EASILY fixed! I purchased a $40 guitar headphone amp with an aux-in port so that I'm essentially by-passing the Aliyes amp with one that is 50 times better.I am not disappointed in Aliyes despite the above issues. I knew there would be some fix-its. The basic unit is perfect for practicing in silence and the fixits are simple and not at all costly. In my opinion, it is very much worth the cost.
