Samsung 65" TU8000 HDR Smart 4K TV with Tizen OS Black [Energy Class A+]

Wanted a flat screen tv to use in home gym area.Very easy to install and set up with step by step menus. Have not connected to TV aerial so cannot comment on reception via free view but the set comes with multiple channels via Samsung’s TV content and most of the terrestrial channels can be accessed by internet players such as BBC iPlayer , More4 etc so I have just linked to an Ethernet cable back to my broadband hub and it works fine.Tv comes with both conventional remote and a smart remote that works more like a PC mouse. It is very intuitive to use and so have not used conventional remote at all. Also comes with Alexa voice control so you can search for content by voice commands which also works well.Picture quality is very good given that this is a “budget” Model rather than the high end OLED screens. Contrast and brightness are good so that there is a wide viewing angle and picture is clear even in a bright room.Sound quality is OK. If you want really good sound you probably need to link to a sound bar using the digital sound output but the speakers are fine for my purpose. There is also Bluetooth so you pair to headphones or Bluetooth speakers if you want - this works well when I use with my exercise bike or rowing machine.There are three HDMI inputs which is good for a TV of this price range. I have added an external HDMI switch to switch between and Xbox and DVD player while another HDMI input comes out to link to my iPad . You can also mirror the iPad or iPhone screen to the TV over airplay to play video or display photos.Internet connection allows YouTube and other online video services including Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc which are all included in the Samsung Tizen system.Finally there is an ambient mode so that you can use the TV screen to display pictures while you are not watching it. I guess it’s supposed to be an opportunity to display art on the wall rather than just a black screen if that’s your thing but I have not really seen a need for it given where the screen is being used. In another location I might use this feature more.In summary, a great value product with Samsung’s usual quality and reliability. Highly recommended

Stunning sharp HDR picture, great in 4k, easy to set up using the app and easy to use. Everything is high quality (even the packaging), I.e. the plastics and the apps are super fast and video buffering is clear and quick (instant) even on not the best connection. Sound is actually very good for such a screen. Motion is fairly good although can blur a little on Amazon (might be motion settings). I’ve not tested gaming but should be super fast (20ms). The unit has no headphone output for 3.5mm connection to an amp/speakers which is annoying for me. Overall I’m really pleased with this unit.

Delivery was good and on time. TV once set up looks good. Would have preferred a central stand (like our previous Samsung) rather than feet either end of set as had to move all other items from top of stand to fit this on. Lovely picture quality and great choice of apps (yet to use them all). Downside is sound, need to turn it up high to get a reasonable volume which drops regularly might be due to how programmes have been recorded but not experienced on previous tv. Have had to invest in a sound bar which was additional cost not budgeted for to enjoy better quality sound and volume without turning up high and being able to still hear it if sitting in adjoining dining room. This the reason it is 4 stars rather than the 5 we would have given. Still would recommend though.

Brilliant tv. You certainly get what you pay for. Crystal clear sound. Great picture, everything you need for a good home tv. See pics. I was more than happy. Went up with brackets from amazon too so very happy with my purchase. I really do like Samsung for TVs. Delivery was great too. Gd communication with seller. I have a wrong mobile number so they didn’t delivery till I contacted which was fine for me. I see I got it a bit cheaper as was on sale which I see is back on. 100% recommend
