First 130 High Frequency Words in Cartoons: Activity Sheets and Flash Cards

This is a great book that can be used on it's own but is better when used in conjunction with the guide by the same name. The guide shows the children how the visual clues work and then using the activities in this book they can apply them. The children then understand how the "system" works and they can use it for themselves for other tricky words that they want to learn to spell. The children really like the safe feeling that all the "scaffolding" of these two books gives them, which then gives them the confidence to try on their own which is magical to watch!
