BMW tech recommended Pentosin 5W30 for a 2009 X5 30si. The pull out spout helps with pouring but still need a funnel. Also got the BMW 11427953129 oil filter on Amazon along with the oil filter wrench.

Excellent and "right" selection for our 2003 E39 530i
I had used Liquid moly (another high-quality German oil) in the previous oil change, but decided to try the Pentosin for the next service interval. To my shock & amazement I must say there was as perceptible improvement in smoothness to how the can ran over all. Very sewing-machine like, like these engines are supposed to run. I've worked on cars for decades and this isn't placebo-effect. If there was no difference I'd say so. I'm not knocking the other product whatsoever, just saying that, for whatever reason, the engine does run smoother with Pentosin. Go figure.

Buy the Best for your BMW!
Maybe a little more expensive but, it is worth it! Love Pentosin products! Use it in both my 2013 BMW 328i X-Drive (F30) & 2011 BMW 528i (F10).
