All About Short Selling (All About Series)

I generally don't revel in criticizing someone's hard work, but I gain so much from reading others' reviews I decided to chip-in myself. I've made it through three chapters of this book and, though the author may be a short-selling master, his writing is poor and the editing is shoddy. This doesn't seem like the kind of polished book one would expect under a series label like "All About" or "xxx for Dummies". I've found numerous grammar mistakes and the organization is generally difficult to follow, with sporadic examples and poorly-defined terms. I'd suggest looking at other titles and, if this quality is indicative of the "All About" series as a whole, at other labels for teach-yourself books as well.UPDATE: See recent review of "All About Dividends", citing editing errors as well. Poor quality may indeed be a series-wide problem.

well written
It was well written but not what this reader expected. I have since ordered other books in hopes of finding what I had hoped to gain trading information.

All About Short Selling by Tom Taulli
I use "put" options to short currencies and stocks for some time.As the title implies, it talks about the process. What I liked the most were the chapters on analyzing a company's financial. The author provides excellent tools to ferret out the time bombs in a company. It can be a big help for avoiding some stocks and it is an area that is not covered much in books.

Short Selling Explained
I've invested for many years but it has always been on the long side. But with the financial crisis and volatility, I wanted to better understand short selling and hedging strategies so I purchased Tom Taulli's book. It's definitely been a big help. Tom provides all the steps you need to setup an account for short selling. He also covers options and futures.More importantly, Tom has a framework to analyze short sale targets. He looks at the financials and how to detect the risk factors. But there is also analysis of strategic changes, which can be critically important. Finally, Tom covers different types of special situations, like IPOs, commodities, tech stocks and so on.Tom's book has certainly been insightful. So, if you want to know more about this subject - which really does not have much explanation out there - then this is the book for you.

this book
the content of this book is a lot of fluff and little actual how to do hands on...you learn everything about the market and hardly nothing about short selling,,,not worth the money in my opinion
