Osprey UltraLight 6 Dry Sack, One Size

When they say UltraLight they really mean it. We were amazed at how thin and light the fabric is.We got this bag for kayak/boat/camping trips to keep our stuff dry after one day getting everything soaked. This size is pretty small, a little smaller than a bag of chips when unfolded. It works perfectly for snacks, or for sunscreen, fishing licenses, wallets, keys, and other things of the sort. We went with this instead of a dry box since the size can be adjusted to what we need. Sometimes we carry it on its own, but it is also small enough to be tucked inside of another bag. I really like the rectangular shape - it allows us to use all of the space efficiently. The softness of the fabric also makes it really malleable to adjust to what is inside.I love that I can store it in almost no space by just rolling it up. I haven't tested to see how it performs when dunked, but our bags did get pretty wet on our last boating/camping trip and everything inside stayed dry.

I use these as "packing cubes" for clothing etc inside my large off-road motorcycle's (water resistant only) tailbag in case of rain or if I drop the bike during a water crossing. It's perfect for this kind of use, because I don't need the material to be extra tough, nor to handle intense water soakings or long immersions; I just need it to be light weight and 'reasonably' waterproof. (I use a bigger, thicker, "heavy duty" dry sack to hold my tablet, phone, shoes... stuff that absolutely cannot get even damp.) To give you an idea of size, it is NOT big enough to hold, say, my size 11.5 shoes (the top can only be rolled once, not the necessary 3 times). I suspect it can handle around a pair of size 9 or smaller. I sprayed these with waterproofing just to help, and I must say they've never let anything get damp even before I sprayed them.

I've taken this bag on a few trips now, and it has held up great. Very thin material that is incredibly durable and light. It won't keep water completely out if submerged, but that isn't the intended use for roll-top dry bags. It hasn't let in water since I've gotten it.

I recently used this as a sack for my clothes during a week of backpacking on the Appalachian Trail. It held up well and met all expectations I had. Holding two long sleeve shirts, two extra pair of hiking socks, a pair of running shorts and full length tights, made it good for a pillow. I did find a very small hole in one of the sacks, but I cant determine if it was from user error or product integrity. Overall it was a great product. I could foresee myself purchasing a couple more for future adventures.

As always, Osprey has hit it out of the park with a simple, lightweight design for a dry bag. The ruggedized rip sttop Sil-Nylon material is tough and keeps your kit dry. The clip attachments are durable and have a ring to keep a carabiner on without side loading the clip. The bottom of the bag also has a loop to hang the unit when cleaning and drying. This unit is half the weight of the REI brand and works better for the same price. I won't buy anything else from here on out.

Use it as a food dry bag in my backpack. Works great. 6L is huge for food. I might buy a smaller one (3 or 4 L) for food and use this for my extra clothing instead.

I wanted to wait a while before reviewing these because they are so thin that I expected them to not be very durable. I should have known better since we own 3 Osprey packs and they are bombproof. These sacks are deceptively tough. I use them every day as inner bags while motorcycle commuting and I keep my keys in them to keep my fobs from getting wet. If the day to day beating they take on the bike with keys in them hasn't worn through them yet then I am sure they will hold up fine when we take them backpacking/camping in the Spring.

I will be carrying a backpack for 34 days, so I liked how light and the quality of the product. Osprey again you've come through

I liked the bag. It kept my food dry and out of the reach of bears.
