This model has a very stable mounting
This replaced an old Samsung 32" tv. We went for this model (43" TU8500 Dynamic Crystal) as it had a large center stand so would fit our TV unit as some seem to have legs at each end now. Its a good solid looking and feeling TV. The color seemed a little different to our old tv at first but 2 weeks on it now seems perfectly normal and a very clear picture. Finding your way around the controls is reasonably easy, different layout on screen to our old TV but I can manage it and am pretty poor at I.T. things normally. Sound quality is fine for us, I wear hearing aids all the time and struggle hearing anything normally even face to face and very hard on phone. The volume and clarity on this set are very good as far as I am concerned for normal programs. A sound bar might make it nicer for some but probably wasted on me. I do use wireless headphones when watching a movie/ film but would do even with a sound bar as speech with any background noise or music is very hard for me to focus on and hear properly anytime. I also have to have the sound volume up on everything compared to a normal hearing person. The headphone jack on this model can be used without interfering with normal sound on tv so I can be in my own little world at high volume while others watch at normal volume, late evening when others in bed I can still watch and hear with normal volume on tv turned right down to zero. We think its a very nice TV and very good value for money.

Great Picture Quality, Better connectivity and Two Remote Controls
First thing about this 43" beast is that you need two people to assemble the stand (or to fix it to the wall). Second, I found the questions I had to answer, before the TV would set itself up, somewhat daunting and a bit intrusive, I did not like this part at all. Third, once the questionnaire and compulsory naming of the TV was over, the auto-set up did everything and more than I could ask of it. For example, it integrated itself seamlessly into my computer networking. Next, I connected my Chromecast device, Roku 3, LG Sound Plate and music system to this new TV and, to my surprise, all that kit seemed to work better on this TV than they did with my previous 32" Samsung TV (Better compatibility? My gob was utterly smacked).OK, there is so much on the new beast to like that I could turn this review into a full blown essay but I'll stop here and say that this a very good TV and there is very little to fault it, unless you want to nit pick but, in the effort to be fair, I will do some nit picking.1) I don't like the fact it has two remote controls, one is primarily for the main TV functions and the other for the smart functions. However, the main remote does allow you to access the TV's smart facilities but those smart buttons a very small.2) I don't like the smart remote so I never use it.3) When pressing a button on the main remote the TV reacts about 0.5 seconds later, I believe but can't prove that this is down to the TV's OS system. It's possible that this delay may vanish when Samsung next updates the OS.Finally, ignoring my nitpicking, this is a fine TV and Samsung have produced another popular winner, i.e. it's definitely a 5 star product.

Absolutely brilliant - but turn off the Motion Smoothing!
Best Telly I've ever had and the colours are absolutely stunning. The missus and I are both missing the Cinema as regular attendees, but this TV is helping to make up for it. The crisp and vibrant picture is incredible. The colours as I said are just unreal. What a fantastic TV! Not really played too much with the Smart TV part of it, but great to be able to add channels that aren't available with Virgin - channels like Disney, Britbox etc.Thoroughly recommended. The stand being a lot smaller than it looks means that we can use our old TV table without having to buy one.The one thing you'll have to do though is to turn off the motion smoothing. Whoever thought this was a good idea was wrong. I watched the film 'Alien' and I couldn't understand what was going on. It was like they'd filmed it on the set of Coronation Street - absolutely bewildering until I went online and looked up what's happening. Basically it tries to be clever to cut out the jagged movement when the camera pans, but what it actually ends up doing is inserting 'false' frames between 'real' frames. The upshot of this is that the film speed chosen by the director gets thrown in the bin and the TV plays it at a 'smoothing' rate - this makes everything you watch on TV (TV series and sports) look great and everything you watch that is a film looks absolutely terrible. Once you've worked out how to turn his off then you're good.

Great 4K TV at a reasonable price
Like most people, I guess, I did a lot of research before getting our new TV. This model gets great reviews from Which? amongst several other well respected consumer review sites. They’re not wrong.Picture quality is fantastic, especially if you pick Movie or Filmmaker mode - which is a little less crisp, but much better picture overall. 4K content looks amazing. Wildlife programmes have never looked so good :)It was easy to setup and the smart remote is great, once you get used to it. There’s a standard remote included too.The on screen guide is also easy to use - once you get used to it :)There’s a huge wealth of streaming and on-demand services available - including Samsung TV Plus - which provides about 30 additional channels. The only slight let down is the sound from the TV speakers. It’s OK, but not brilliant. (There’s also a known ‘issue’ with several models of Samsung TV, including this one, where there is a strange whooshing sound when the volume is very low at the 1-4 level. It’s not there at higher volumes and, honestly, it hasn’t bothered me at all. Samsung say they will address with a software update. It doesn’t affect any connected sound system either, so if you use a sound bar or Home Theatre, you won’t hear it at all)Overall a great TV. Very happy.
