Op Amp Applications Handbook (Analog Devices Series)

very good for communications but not for computation
very extensive book for the typical communications engineer, basic signal amplifier, basic sensor amp and basic filter and basic A to D converter book using a vendor's products. However the huge field of actual "calculation" capabilities is missing. In today's digital world the humble Op-Amp has been pressed into servitude in just getting a signal digitized. I was expecting at least one chapter at "Op-Amp computations or calculus". The "Op-Amp" was originally designed to "calculate". It is fun to replace a problematic micro-processor with buggy software with a $1 op-amp that does all of the calculations with no software, none of this is in this book. C. A. Ripplinger.

Excellent Analog Design Book
Like some have stated before, its a cookbook, but WHAT a cook book, there are literally tons of applications inside, the only downside I see is that many times, the circuits are very briefly explained, I would have loved to have a longer and more in depth explanation of whats going on in the circuit. That being said, I understand that the amount of info needed for that would probably required several volumes instead of a single book which is already considerably thick. In any case, everytime I need an analog circuit for certain application I open this book and I can always find something useful that will work. I highly recomend this book for someone who does electronic design, this book will provide a very vast amount of resources for fast implementation.

Loved the author's stories about the development of analog IC technology
I've had my copy for over five years and have found it invaluable. Having a free download version is nice, but the printed version is more useful. I especially appreciate Walt Jung's and the other author's stories about the development of analog IC technology, and their perspectives on the various circuit techniques engineered into the ICs that we love to design into our circuits. The chapter on Op-amp structures, especially valuable. Walt Kester's chapter on high-speed op-amps is also very useful.

Clear and thorough
This book is very good for broadening comprehension for someone who knows the basics.

Pretty much definitive
Maybe not every single OpAmp in existance here, but Walt Jung is the man for this stuff, no questions, clear format, and way to grasp the differences If you havethe basic background in electronics, then this book shouldgive you most all that you would need to know on OpAmps.

Almost everything about opamps
As a hobbyist with MS in EE I found this book quite useful. Covers most of the things I need. A good starting point for almost everything you can build with op-amps.

The authority on OP-Amps
Walt Jung is one of the well known authorities on Op-amps. My job we have so many different op amps that this book is a handy guide. Great for College students and BSEE.

Op Amp Book Review
Mechanical engineer researching op amps for circuit applications: not enough sample circuits; too high and mighty, not for casual users.

Clear easy and useful
Beautiful and complete book for op amp application, I like the filter section especially and basic aspect of op amp behavior. A must for everyone who plays with these magical things

so so
Too general it doesn't get in details enough to be useful at work.
