The product is professional grade. A well known and well established pest control company uses these same bait stations.They are built well and waited down so they don’t move with strong winds. Worth every penny.

I was searching to add an additional unit in the attic that matches what our paid pro used when he helped us out. This is the exact same model. It is weighted and uses a keyed system (which lets us open up the other units he left). We found the recommended bait as well. Remember to securely store the bait so kids/pets don't get into it.

The rats on Capitol Hill (the four-legged kind with the wiry tails) walk right in and take the bait.This urban neighborhood had become overrun with rats that scurried everywhere at night, and walked down the sidewalk during the day like they owned the place. The city had us on their list for rodent abatement, and I did see bait boxes in the alley, but the city's rodent patrol only visited our neighborhood every three months, at the most. This is not nearly enough to wipe out a rodent population.I bought two of these WEIGHTED bait boxes plus the JT Eaton 704-PN Bait Block Anticoagulant Rodenticide, PEANUT BUTTER FLAVOR, and wow, do the rats love this stuff. They will eat you out of house and home, so you may need to re-load your bait boxes once a week in the beginning. I baited two boxes in my small garden on a Saturday. I noticed nothing for the first two days, and then BAM, I had five confirmed kills by the next weekend. Only one died in my garden, and the rest were found dead out on the sidewalk. Get ready to scoop them with a shovel and bag 'em up.Remember that this is not a "set and forget" thing. Check your bait boxes every week and re-load as needed. You will be rat and mouse free. The rat population that ruled our neighborhood at night has all but been eliminated, yet we all still do have to put our trash out for pickup, so that remains as an open invitation. I now check my boxes once per month, every time I pay my electricity bill. But remember, check your boxes every weekend in the beginning! This is how you will have a fast knockdown leaving no time for breeding.These companies sell tiny mouse bait boxes, but I would not even waste my money on that. Go ahead and get the box for rats, and then all sizes of rodents will be welcome to enter and take the bait. I bought the Protecta EVO Express Bait Station WITH the concrete weight. These are a few dollars more than the same station without the concrete weight, but they are well worth it so that some crafty raccoon doesn't come along and carry it away.Put the key on a keychain and hang it on a hook in your utility room or wherever you keep your supply of bait. If the key to your bait box sprouts legs and runs away, you can buy a replacement on Amazon.When setting the box, remember to keep the edge of the box closest to the entrance holes pushed up against a wall since scurrying along walls is how rodents prefer to travel.The peanut butter bait blocks must be delicious because the rats will love you...until they don't.Check out my video, and you will see one sneaky, little guy who was enjoying waterfront accommodations in my garden RENT FREE. Feels heavy enough, but no key to open it! Sent a message through Amazon to see if they can send a key or if I have to return it. Awaiting response. UPDATE Contacted the seller and they said they would send a key. Still waiting. UPDATE #2 A month went by and they never sent the key. Luckily we found a friend who had two of them and let us borrow one of his keys. Works great, lots of activity in our problem area. I solved my problem by ordering a second one which had a key! Yay! It's a good product, but......seriously....solve your key problem!

oddly it was shipped with key inside case, and no way to open!!! its a special key that luckily I had a key to another unit, if not for another buyer would have to return, also no instruction on how to set up the upright pins in box, luckily I owned another box and knew how to place them, I appreciate it was shipped in another box, the packing paper was very skimpy and needed more to fully be protective.took off one star mainly for no instruction and no way to open caxe to get key! Other than that it is a well made hardy case and nice to have the concrete weight inside.ti

Great for windy areas and where children may be, since they have a weighty brick inside. The baits and/or traps are above the brick so they stay dry in rainy weather.

I really like this one. You can load it up with poison bait or t-rex snap traps, Tomcat traps that look like the t-rex also fit.I've tried other bait stations that I could never leave around my dogs because they could reach inside and possibly set off the trap and really hurt themselves. This station has a concrete block inside and the critters enter and have to go up a ramp to the level of the traps or bait and then turn either left or right to get to the bait or traps, a dog can't reach up and around. The station has a single lock and is easy to open, other stations with two locks are a pain to open and I hate having to handle these more than absolutely necessary. The whole trap is really sturdy and is really professional. The station doesn't come with any traps or critter bait but if you have pets this one is a keeper. The bait tray comes out for easy cleaning so you don't have to carry the whole station with you. I'm not saying that this is the only pet proof station, I'm sure there are others but my search is over.
