** UPDATE UPDATE **October 2022. We still use it. We still love it. No rips or tears. However somehow the rim got warped. Someone folded it weird a few times and now it’s just confused, won’t lay in a perfect circle. Doesn’t catch hair in the back because it flips up. But catches hair everywhere else. I’ll have to see if I can fix or McGyver the rim.*************I have 3 boys - 12, 17 and 48. The 12yo hates getting a haircut because it gets crazy itchy. He is squirmy and makes giving a decent haircut hard. The 17yo sits still but complains the whole time "are you done yet? what about now? how much hair are you cutting?" The husband stoically sits still and allows the cut. Enter this weird flying saucer type contraption. They gave me weird looks, the husband said "another weird amazon purchase..." Snapped it on and it was perfect. Hair was captured in the bowl and made clean up easy. No itchiness, no complaints. I'm so glad I purchased this. It is thin so I'm careful with it. It's like thin mylar. With care, it will last. The only negative is it's not made for skinny kids. I had to use clips to hold it closed for my 12yo.

I prefer to avoid the risk of exposure to whatever's going around, and since I just go with a simple clipping anyway, this thing is useful for home cuts. It catches by far the bulk of clippings, though you'll want to do it in an area that can readily be cleaned up. I'm glad we got it. Your significant other will laugh at you when first they see it. That's fine, people need a good laugh these days.

I'm probably reeeaaallly dumb, and I'm sure everyone else realized this, but I didn't realize that this sticks on to a mirror or wall. I actually thought it was a wired thing that would stand up on its own and fold/pop up. Less useful for my purposes!

I bought this item based upon both review and product photos. I was very disappointed in what I received. The wiring used to hold the cape in place is very thin and the weight of the cape pulls the cape down and not in the bowl shape that is shown in the picture. Also the cape has some straps that are seen into place to help hold the cape in place, but the straps are always being pulled down due to the amount of fabric being used for the cape. Because the cape could not hold its shape, most of the hair I buzzed off ended up on my floor.The pluses from this item are that this setup is 1) easy to clean and 2) easy to bend back into the small plastic bag it was shipped in for storage (no storage bag was provided).I find it hard to recommend this product at this time.

Catches beard and hair trimmings. Keeps vanity and sink clean. But then um ... Lift off carefully, take outdoors, shake out. Upwind. Trimmings don't stick. Getting them out of it and into a garbage bag or trash can is VERY tricky. But the catching part is great. The trimmings got a little static going on in there. So going into a plastic trash bag they were very clingy to that bag. There was vacuuming involved. But not cleaning the sink, counter, floor, rug. Next time maybe the hand vac straight into the catcher. Definitely moves your mess to a less objectionable location
