New Era Hat Shaping and Cleaning Kit Re-Cap

As an avid golfer, have 50-60 hats that get a little nasty over time. I have machine washed them and used spray starch and a blow dryer with some success. However, this product makes them like new again. I have used it on at least 20 of my old favorites with excellent results. Have recommended this to friends as I do to anyone wanting to save old caps!

Love it. Perfect item. If you to save a hat you need this. Shaper liquid that comes with it is in a small bottle. Not enough to last long. But its basically spray starch.

Works great. Used to give several floppy hats a little stiffer body. I have not used the cleaner at all just the shaper. The liquid to me smells and seems much like a stiff hairspray but does what I need so thats whats important. The bottle is a little small so I am going to have to get more product which is a bit disappointing after just doing like 4 hats otherwise if bottles were bigger would have given 5 stars

So far I have restored 2 hats to almost new condition. 1 of them was hopeless but still did pretty good. They should make a small, medium and large size. I could use 1 size bigger but it still works. I don't think the cleaning solution works good. And it smells horrible. The shaper solution works good. I just wish i can purchased a few larger bottles of it somewhere. All in all I like this product a lot.

The photo is misleading! The pump is NOT included in the kit and I will have to return it. It will cost me $8 for nothing.

I was able to save at least $200 worth of hats with these item. The cleaner only lasted for about 8 hats, but the inflatable hat mold is awesome and really what you are buying. I could not save some very dirty white or light grey hats, but I didn't think I had a chance of saving those hats. It did recover to good condition several of my darker colored hats.

Product was supposed to come with 2 sprays: one cleaning spray, and one shaping spray. I instead received two cleaning sprays and no shaping spray. The cleaning spray is presently drying into my hats and I have no shaping spray to use next. Will I ruin my hats? Who knows! It's an adventure!

If you are buying this because your hats are dirty, don't bother. The cleaner does not work well at all, and the brush that comes with it just messes up your fabric on your hat making it all fuzzy. If you are buying this for the shaper, then I would say it is a decent buy. As far as I know, there is not another competing product that shapes your hat like this. A word of caution to those who have really expensive hats or highly treasured hats, DO NOT use the brush on them! You will get some slight fuzzing of the fabric. I used the cleaner first to see how well it worked (didn't work well). Then, I wash my hat with soap in the sink. Washing the hat with soap worked better. I used the product to dry, stiffen and shape the hat. It worked well for that. Price should not be so high for a hat shaper, though.
