Good budget webcam, only has 30 FPS, good for every day use.
This is an okay web cam if you are on a budget. The picture is pretty clear and it works for either a MAC or PC. I have been wanting to get a webcam for my mac mini so I can use facetime and this does the job for what I need it to. If you are looking for a camera that you want to stream say pokemon cards this is not the best for that as it only gives you about 30 FPS which is a bit choppy for card games in my opinion. It has a hard time seeing the details on the actual card even when you hold it stable. That being said, if you are trying to get a better replacement for your mac pro or something then you actually get an adapter for type C because macbooks have no USB A port. I tried it with the adapter adapter and noted that you are able to use the camera with a type C adapter. I was able to plug this into my desktop and macpro. There is no driver installation required on either operating system which is nice. It pretty much auto detects and starts working in less than a minute. I just tried it with windows 10 and 11. The camera works just for fine with all these operating system. The overall camera design look is nice although the black plastic layer you need to remove was actually really tough to come off. It has a pretty generic look compared to many other cameras. There is a cover that you can easily slide close and open from the top. So it is something that gives you that privacy. You could just turn the camera around as well as needed. There is no cover for the microphone. There is a stand you can use if you do not want to put this on top of your monitor. The picture quality is not bad. I would compare this picture quality is just a bit better than a laptop onboard camera. I would say it runs pretty well for facetime and zoom calls. It is not something I would use for conference rooms. Because it does try to focus on your face, it actually will have a hard time adjusting to smaller details. The next thing about this is that the microphone is pretty sensitive so you will need to adjust that before trying your first call. Again there is no issues with the device drivers. It is essentially a plug in play. This webcam can be mounted to the top of your monitor or television depending on which screen you are using. It is fairly secure and easy to adjust although make sure you have enough slack when mounting the webcam. If you happen to be pulling on the cable it is easy to move the camera. The cable length is long enough to reach from my computer monitor to my desktop and still has some slack left. One thing to note is that the device is that the device can be scratched up easily. The picture quality is 1080 p and transmitting quality is going to be dependent on your internet speed and again it only has 30 FPS. Honestly for the price you are paying for this camera, it is pretty decent quality but it is not the best. It does auto focus so you do not have to do that, nor is there a way to manually focus on the camera itself. The microphone sound again is pretty clear but be sure to adjust it accordingly as you may actually appear louder to someone else. The flexible stand is a nice attachment. Overall I think this camera is great for what you need it to do. It does a good job for me during facetime and work meetings (not conference rooms though). The microphone picks up my voice pretty well with very little background noise. I do like the fact that the camera cover is built in and can easily be opened or closed with the tab on top.

Very good economy webcam
The build quality is very good. I installed the camera (just plugged in the USB cord!) and used the Windows 11 built in camera app. This webcam's picture quality is good, and the field of view is adequate for my needs (Zoom/Meets sessions). I can recommend this camera.

A Good and relatively Inexpensive Webcam for Basic Online Needs
So, the Ausdom AW33 is definitely not high-end. That said, considering name brand webcams are going for silly prices at the moment because of demand and borderline gouging, you can't go wrong with this little webcam.Pros: 1.) The picture is pretty good. So for conference meetings you will look way better than using your built-in camera. The color reproduction is fairly accurate and the picture while a touch grainy, seems to settle down as long as you don't move too much. 2.) It is small and the clamp works just fine on monitors. 3.) It is plug and play as advertised. The cord is long enough..like close to 6'.Cons: The mic seems to pick up my voice reasonable well, but the sound comes back a little muffled. I will try to fiddle to improve that and edit this review if successful.

Wide Angle View
This camera seems solid and I like the tube-like size so it is less obtrusive. It does not have a "live" LED to show if video is on. It does not have a lens cover for privacy. I always stick a cover on my laptop cameras and I've done the same with this. Also note, the flexible "clamp" portion of this is 2.5" long. This piece would be far more useful if it were another inch or two longer. It would be more secure perched on top of a monitor (precarious as it is on a standard monitor) and would fit onto or wrap around other items one might want to use as a camera stand.Unfortunately, the lens is too wide angle for my home office. I have my monitors about arms length in front of me per ergo department recommendations. Perched on top of a monitor, this lens incorporates a wide background and captures about 3-4 of us standing arms length away. This results in a desire to "zoom" the camera when I'm the only one in the room to be similar to others using their laptop cameras in video conferences. This camera has no zoom function.I like the camera. It was plug n play on Windows 10. But for me, it could be more useful by adding a zoom(or reducing the wide angle lens field of view), and definitely needs a longer flexible mount to allow more security or use on something other than perched on a monitor.

A really nice alternative to unavailable webcams
After waiting six months for a different product, I decided to buy this Ausdom AF640 webcam. I plugged it into a USB port on my Windows 10 computer and it worked immediately, showing an excellent image in the Windows 'camera' app. As other reviewers have noted, its image is more of a wide-angle view than similar webcams, but not unacceptably so; I saw no noticeable optical distortion like the 'fisheye' effect seen on some webcams. Its color reproduction of my face was natural, which is why I gave five stars for "warmth". Next, I tried the Ausdom webcam live on Zoom. Surprise! Zoom automatically clipped a little of its wider view, so the online result showed more of my face and less of my surroundings. I got fewer HD pixels than I was sending to Zoom, but the result was visually what I wanted. And Ausdom's microphone got my voice just fine on Zoom's record-playback audio test. This webcam's mechanical mounting is nicer than many, with a ball joint that allows left-right adjustment as well as up and down. It even comes with an adhesive-mountable privacy shutter that was designed for it; I attached it in a moment and I'm going to keep it on. Nice job, Ausdom! I recommend this bird-in-the-hand product if you're still waiting for some other bird that's stuck in the bush. The only thing this webcam lacks is the extra software that comes with some other webcams, which you don't need for Zoom. I want to add that I have received nothing, nor will I receive anything, for this review.
