When it arrived def had a weird odor. But minus that - I feel like someone played a magic trick on me. Put it on the Serta soothing cool gel pillow and mixed with that my pillow literally was perfectly chill in my warm room. Stayed nice and chill to. It’s soft. Looks great! Def worth the purchase!

Years ago, I learned (not without some degree of pain) that the better part of valor is to let my wife manage nighttime thermostat settings. Unfortunately, since I tend to sleep a little warmer than she does, I woke up for years in the middle of the night sweaty and uncomfortable.No more!! It is no exaggeration to say that the Elegear cooling blanket has changed my life in a very positive way. (See my video review of that product for details if you're interested.) As a result, these pillowcases were an easy sell. After about two weeks of using them, I can't really imagine being more pleased. For less than $25, my life has improved again!The magic behind this product is the shiny side (which is an 80/20 nylon/polyethylene mix) that is remarkably cool to the touch. You can see (in second photo) the contrast between that side and the (100% cotton) warmer side on the reverse. I am almost certain that I will never use the warm side on my head! When I climb into bed, I position myself on my side, place the puffier pillow (again, shiny side up) between by legs for back support, lay my head on that cool (flatter) pillow, and I am out in minutes! Sheer wizardry.I do find that after a couple hours with my head on the pillowcase, the cooling effect recedes somewhat. This is easily remedied with a 180-degree rotation of the pillow and repositioning my head on a not-recently-used portion (which allows the part where my head was to cool back down). With my cool head is restored, back I go into dreamland!If you sleep on the hot side, please try this product! Honestly, the fact that I spent so little to change my life so profoundly makes me feel like I got away with something - in a very good way!

I bought these for my husband because he's such a HOT sleeper. We both like the product, it's a good sturdy yet soft fabric and I love that they'll have a zip closure. Unfortunately, neither of us really feel any sort of cooling affect from them. I did keep them as they are good Pillow cases.

Ordered 2 sets of these cooling pillow cases and they work as advertised. Comfortable, fitted cases are perfect for us. Just wish we would have gotten the matching sheets!

Definitely has a cooling effect at first. Very soft and comfortable. After resting for a bit, the material absorbs the heat, and it is not much cooler than most pillowcases. If you do have a king size pillow you can move your head from edge to edge to keep cool.I ordered the color green and either their green is blue or they sent me the wrong color choice.

The pillow cases are well made, especially for the price. And the cooling side is fantastic, I just wish the whole pillow case was the cooling side. Flipping it over in the middle of the night to a side that isn't as 'cool' is a bit awkward, as you are typically half asleep, but I still love these pillow cases.

I think this was a good purchase. I notice I no longer sweat at night in my hair. If your menopausal and looking for something to keep your head cool at night, this is a good purchase.

Only giving this a star because I got the "cooling blanket" with the pillow cases and the pillow cases don't entirely s**K. The blanket is like a dollar value in a fabric store's worth of 2 layers of nylon, of a quality that you'd find as a lining in something just so it's not totally sheer. Nylon is slick and silky or satin smooth and that's what makes it cool to the touch. It's hot a few seconds after contact, there is no cotton layer on the other side, believe me I would get my money back but I washed it f course and they say you can't return after washing- but who'd sleep with some fabric they didn't wash??? Don't waste your money!

My husband and I are hot sleepers. These pillow cases are AMAZING!!!! They stay pretty cool and I love how silky it feels on my skin.
