One of the few perfect gifts for a kid
For anyone who has a fairly young child and they are concerned about getting that child a tablet this is a good purchase. This review is going to summarize the many tablets my grandson has had since he was three. I want to point out here all the tablets we've had replaced were all broken by my grandson except for one. Out of I think it's been eight tablets none of them failed. Amazon has an environment which is easy to control There's a lot of entertainment designed specifically for children but it's also a legitimate tablet so they're learning skills which I feel certain they will use for the rest of their life. The quality of the tablet is really good for the price ... Especially since you are going to be guaranteed the tablet will provide entertainment for the child for at least 2 years. I purchased my grandson a 7-in when he was 3. During the two years following that purchase it was replaced twice absolutely free and very expeditiously. After its two year anniversary I upgraded him to an 8-in when he was 5 I believe. It was a lot better tablet, a bigger tablet etc. He dropped it off of balcony and broke it once and became frustrated once and hit it against the bumper of a vehicle. Both times a replacement was sent very quickly for free. Well after it's 2-year anniversary I was made aware yet another tablet had reached its untimely end. Actually I guess it wasn't untimely considering I know a lot of adults who can't keep a tablet a year. This was well over 2 years approaching 3 years with this tablet, which had been replaced twice. As you can tell we have a lot of experience with the fire tablets. I should add right now I have three, two seven inch and one 10 in. The fire OS is a little different than the regular Android OS & for adults Can be a concern. It's not my favorite operating system but this tablet is for a child Of all the fire tablets this is the one that I can say without a shadow of a doubt is a good purchase you will not regret. I will add getting the replacements is a little bit more difficult than the first one I don't think it's Amazon policy that's changed I think the customer service guys are used to dealing with the regular tablets and you simply need to remind them and read it verbatim for 2 years you get a replacement no questions asked. No questions asked to me means stop asking me questions except for the important one ... do I send it to the address on file?? It's never taken me more than 20 minutes on the phone to have the replacement shipped. And it's never cost me a dime. If you haven't placed your order by now I'm not really sure what else I can tell you to convince you It's a good purchase for your child or grandchild and they will thank you. Now, you have plenty of money just go buy it already. You can thank me later. I do accept Dogecoin.

Amazing tool for My Son on The Autism spectrum
My now 2 1/2 yr old son was diagnosed with being on the autism spectrum disorder, and when we were getting him evaluated by a speech therapist (Because that’s where we originally started down this rabbit hole into this Wonderland we are now in…..it started because he stopped speaking all of a sudden.) and so she tried communicating with him via an Apple iPad she had. He didn’t want anything to do with the iPad. She is the one who then suggested we get him a Kids Kindle since he loved to read. I was hesitant because with my now 16 yr old, I always had it drilled into my head as a parent that less screen time is always better and not to start them too young. Now it’s the opposite??? Do they have a parenting memo that I missed where they changed the guidlines? Lol Reluctantly, I got him the kindle. One of the Best decisions I’ve made. After we got him the kindle, he started off playing just one game over and over again…as kids on the spectrum tend to do. But then he slowly started opening books on the kindle, other games, puzzle & matching games, the hungry caterpillar shape game, Elmo and Cookie monsters ABC cookie game where he creates words and they sound them out with phonics. He started pointing to items on the tablet and naming them. Bubble, car, baby…words we had never heard him say prior to that moment. His hand eye coordination has always far surpassed his age, which is uncommon for someone on the spectrum at his age, but he has a hard time with the fine motor skills…opening buttons, putting small pieces of anything into a small opening, lacing a bead on a piece of thread, ect. But after playing one of the vet games where he had to match the bones in the pigeons arm, and pick the fleas off the dog and put them in a jar (I know it’s sounds gross but it’s a kids game and they are so cute lol) but he was then able to control his fine motor skills a little better each time, to then do the tasks asked off him at his therapies. The other thing is how fascinating it is to watch him solve the puzzles, and see his process take place. It has helped me figure out how to help him in other areas, like bathing without a tantrum. You see how they learn and figure things out for themselves, and even though it’s different then the way we do it, it’s a process all the same. Having a child on the spectrum is all about putting the puzzle of their mind together and figuring out that process. That’s what this kindle has allowed us to do…among many other things. Do I let him on it nonstop? Of course not. But it’s become a great motivator for him. He wants to play it, and mommy wants him to as well…but first we work on flash cards. After the flash cards, he gets rewarded with tablet time, which also helps him out more while he’s having fun doing it. Win win. Highly recommend.

Kid friendly but can also be used by parent!
First off I bought this while it was on discount. So instantly that was a steal. Bought this for my 3 year old daughter, whom ai really wanted to get her own tablet so thag she can watch her own shows and play games whether at home or on the go. Essentially what you are purchasing is the case protector, which works really great! This comes with a two year warranty and if you break it theyll replace it. So I decided to drop it from over 20 ft up and happy to say it still works (but won't due that again and I dont recommend it lol.)! Without the case it's just another ordinary firetablet. Aside from the tablets durability it comes with (what I consider) two native Operating Systems. The tablet is an Android device but runs on Amazon OS that has two seperate native OS's. One for your child and one for the parents. Obviosuly the Child OS is age restricted and has Zero access to any web browser or social media content, but you can still access Kid friendly apps such as Tv shows, movies and games. In conjunction with any streaming service, if you have cable TV alreadh you can sign into the majority of the Kid friendly Streaming services (such as Nickoldeon, Nick Jr, PBS kids) so that you can watch more epsiodes provided by each app with no additonal subscription! BE WARNED, some apps almost make it a little too easy for children to make micro transaction purchases (such as buying in game currency) and that will charge off whatever methid of payment you have setup with your Amazon account, so I highly recommend setting up passwords and pins for any and all purchases and go through each application to see where purchases can be made and, if possible, disable or password protect it. The Parent side OS is fairly standard for a Fire Tablet, it's all geared for everything Amazon. So if you have prime you can access all your content here, movies and music, if not do not fret! You can still go through and download any other strwaming service applications that you have subscribed to elsewhere (netflix, hulu, disney+, just to name a few) plus you can still access YouTube. Onto my final tidbit review my only two real, complaints about the tablet is the amount of Memory RAM installed and the battery life. Undersrand that with 4GB of Memory RAM means that the tablet can bog down from time to time or you may experience slow loading times when accessing applications. My best suggrstion would be to close out any multiple applications not in ise and if that still doesn't work then reset the tablet. I haven't flund where you could refresh the memory cache from the parent OS so soft restarting the, tablet is your best option. My second complaint is the battery life (if I really have to pick out any flaws) if you, or your child, where to consistently use this device you'll get about a solid 3 to 4 hours battery life and it does take a little while to fully charge from 0 percent. With all I have said I highly recommend this product for any parent who is looking to purchase their child their own tablet to watch movies and play games, while being able to use it themselves, have a device that comes with a strong case protector and is back by a two year warranty. Would this be worth $130 to $160? Probably not, but again I bought this on disocunt for $100. If it is still on sale buy it. If not, then I would not recommend it for the normal going price Overall product quality: 8/10 Overall Price for Product (with no disocunt) : 4/10

It’s Great But Not Without Cons
We purchased this tablet for our 3 year old to replace a not so child friendly galaxy tablet we’d been letting her use. She was very excited to see it after I set it up and let it charge. However, we quickly noticed that some of the Amazon Prime Video content she loved and watched on our other tablet was for some reason not available on this Fire kids tablet. I’m talking kids shows such as Blue’s Clues and Bubble Guppies. Instead, you have to add individual videos of those shows (if they are available) from YouTube by going through the settings. I had to watch a YouTube video tutorial to figure out how to do it. The other con is the battery life. It’s supposed to get 12 hours with reasonable use, but I find it gets closer to 6-8. Not a big deal as we always have a charger with us, but something to consider if your child will be primarily using this to watch movies on long trips. Otherwise, this tablet is excellent. It is very kid friendly and comes with so much content that you would otherwise have to pay for on a different device. We were able to download HBOMAX and Disney+ without any issues. I love knowing my daughter can’t accidentally access the internet and find herself places she shouldn’t be. There is so much downloadable content that it is still usable even when WiFi isn’t available. Overall, we are very happy with our purchase.

Make sure you save the case! Worth every penny.
Got this tablet in 2022 for 75ish dollars including protective case. Truly a great investment. My 3yo daughter played with it regularly and it kept her entertained for countless hours. The protective case that came with the tablet was also worth the extra few dollars. She dropped it, threw it, jumped and stood on it was just generally haphazard with it. It lasted a little over a year until one day she just so happened to drop it so perfect that it landed flush on the ground with a loud smacking sound. The screen cracked in a nearly perfect circle and honestly could have continued to be used. The crack didn't make any sharp edges or anything but we figured it came with a 2 year warranty so we might as well use it and get it replaced. Totally worth it, even if you end up having to pay for the warranty. After speaking with customer service I assumed it would just be repaired and then sent back, though the warranty says it would be replaced. It does seem as though it was replaced after all. The process was pretty easy. Just print out the lable, put it in a box, and drop it off at a UPS location. JUST MAKE SURE IF YOU DO A WARRENTY REPLACEMENT/REPAIR THAT YOU TAKE OFF THE CASE BEFORE YOU SEND IT IN. We forgot to take the case off and now we have to buy a new one. Which is fine only bc it was replaced free, and we got an amazing deal to begin with. As far as the actual usage goes its also worth it. I set it up so that she can't make any purchases, and it provides her with an endless array of games and activities to be entertained with for free. It also has an adult profile that is automatically set to your Amazon account for easy set up. When you turn on the device (at original purchase) it boots right up with your information already loaded. All you have to do is click through and it's ready to go. You just set up your child's profile, which is also an easy process. You can set it to limit the amount of time your child can use it, as well as a daily shut off which locks the device from the child at a certain time. It also automatically unlocks at a set time. I have ours set to lock from 10pm to 6am. It makes it so easy to let her know its time to get off and go to bed if she hasn't already gotten off for the night. There are separate options for weekdays and weekends in this regard. Probably the best thing is that you can lock the sound limit. I hate it when someone is listening to their device too loudly without headphones so this is my favorite feature. Just all around a fantastic and worthy investment for your child's entertainment and your sanity when you just want to have a little time to yourself.

Great tablet for toddlers
I was skeptical of buying a tablet for my 2 year old but I gave in on Christmas. I like the kids profile and features that only certain apps and programs are available for use. Its easy to use for a little one and has tons of learning apps and shows on it. The best part about this tablet is that it is a regular fire tablet and just by swapping profiles it pulls out of kids mode. I am unsure if they all do this as this was my first fire tablet purchase. We chose the purple case and so far it is very durable in my toddlers menacing hands. I definitely suggest to buy a screen protector with it and put it on immediately. The little kickstand on the case is a great feature too. The picture quality is perfect and sound is better than I expected. I would definitely recommend this tablet to someone thinking about getting a child a tablet. The age appropriate filters are wonderful and you can easily change them as the child grows up. We have plenty of memory left even with Downloading a few shows to have on the go and a few games for her to play and learn
