The Walking Dead: Alien (Walking Dead: the Alien)

Comic book length token of TWD Lore
As the title says, this is a standard TWD comic book length comic just in hardback. Don't let that deter you though because the short story told in it is fantastic. Definitely for the TWD comic book lover or fanatic, this is a must have!

Short
I picked this up as I’m an avid TWD fan. Be under no illusion that the story is short...very short. I’ve read single edition comics that were longer than this. It was nice to have some new graphic novel material after the main comic came to an end, I just wish there was more of a story.

Don’t waste your money
For the money you have about 5 minutes of reading material. I was excited to read a story about Ricks brother but calling it a story would be generous. Disappointing.

Not great value for money!
As a huge Walking Dead fan, I was very excited to receive this. Unfortunately the volume is so light in content it's not really worth the money. The story itself is told over 42 pages, which doesn't sound too bad, but some of the pages are a single image... a very disposable story with no real surprises, bar one show horned in at the end. Pity, as if this were three times the length I could see it being quite enjoyable. There are also some 'behind-the-scenes' pages at the end to bulk it out.Very disappointed - be sure you really want to spend the money before you purchase. t really is a cash grab from the creators/publishers.

Very short story
Well, first the positives. The art is good.Negatives.Way too short. I guess I should have checked the page count. It will take you about 10mins to read.Story is pointless.I was expecting better.

Nice addition to the Walking Dead library
Like many of the other reviewers, I think the cost of this book is a little on the high side for the number of pages. It is essentially a Walking Dead annual in the American comics sense of the word - in the old days you would get the regular issue for 12 cents and the annual for 25 cents but as this book costs quite a bit more than double the cost of a regular issue, I think it comes into the category of pricy. That said, it is a worthy addition to the Walking Dead cannon and though it is not written or drawn by the original creators, I think they captured the look and feel of the strip very well. It is a standalone story that connects to the main WD chronology and I read it in a single sitting. I would recommend this to WD fans who have followed the original series and are thirsty for more.

Not much for the money
Far too short a story for the money. For completists only. Average writing with average art.

Not worth the money.
Value for money? No way. For £11 something pounds of Amazon I wouldn’t touch it for a second. Go to the publishers website and purchase the e-book versions for as little as €0.50 (pick your own price) which is probably the right price for this 5 minute read. It offers nothing to TWD universe.
