It's been perfectly reliable for me!
After reading the reviews, I was concerned about the connectivity and reliability issues others raised.I shouldn't have been concerned. I've had no problems at all, it's all worked great. Connected frictionlessly to my phone (Android - OnePlus 8 Pro) and treadmill (NordicTrack), read my heart rate easily, all good. I'm glad I bought it; recommended.

Sluggish and Sometimes Wildly Inaccurate
I've had this HRM since February, and even since new its not been a good experience to say the least. I use it with Wahoo SYSTM, combined with power meter pedals and TACX Turbo trainer; and its been completely unreliable.Since new its been sluggish when detecting changes in heart rate, and Its even the same in their android application. You need this app to update the software straight out the box, because the firmware its supplied with has many issues including 'inaccurate readings'... So not a good start. However, even after updating the device, and changing the battery, its still really sluggish, and sporadically provides wildly inaccurate readings. The worst of it though is the inaccurate readings it produces, which is incredibly frustrating when it happens during a Ramp or 4DP test. The HRM sometimes reads well below my heart rate by around 30 or 40bmp, which of course skews the results rendering the test, and effort, completely useless... Its incredibly annoying, and does it frequently now.The basic wahoo TICKR I bought years ago out performs the TICKRX from the standpoint of reliability, but I hear they have went the same way as this now too. My old one starting dropping out after a few years of use, hence why I upgraded. In summary I would avoid it, as mine performs terribly and is generally unreliable with regards to readings. I've bought a few Wahoo products over the years, and 2 or 3 of them I had to send back as they have had issues from DOA, flaky connectivity, and now so unreliable that its rendering the product useless.** Update**As an update, I contacted Wahoo support and they were excellent. Responded within 24 hours, and replaced the HRM within a week. Didn't even have to send the old one back. Will see how the new one lasts, but can't fault their support.

Highly Recommended
My first heat rate monitor- it’s great. Comparing it to wrist based monitors it doesn’t spike, or go missing. The readings were pretty much the same as my Apple Watch and Polar m430 when in a nice environment - basically somewhere warm as I always find that wrist based monitors don’t work very well in the cold. And then in harsher conditions it was spot on. Pairs quickly with my polar when running and iPad when on Zwift.Only thing I would advise is wetting the strap a bit before you pop it on to guarantee finding your heart rate quickly.

So much better than garmins rip off
Works, the running analytics could be better. But the app syncs nicely with strava

Doesn't miss a beat!
Brilliant HR monitor, with the added bonus that you don't have to have it connected to your phone to record a workout. The inbuilt memory will record your workout and then later you can sync it back when you have your phone. The link connection is stable and I haven't had any drop-outs whilst using it. It is accurate and I have compared it to the HR monitors on the Gym equipment and they are identical.

Great comfortable hrm
Really pleased with my Tickr X I love all the new bits of data I'm getting like cadence and vertical oscillation . And it plays nicely with my garmin GPS on the bike and my smart turbo trainer.

Useless - Both this and the none X variant, they constantly fail and give bad readings
I was excited by this launch, cheaper than the Garmin Run and with a design that I hoped would be less prone to failure when the battery dies.I bought both this and the normal TICKR giving me one for Zwift and one for running. Both are completely useless. They worked at the start; both ended up with the same failures.Typically this would involve locking onto the wrong HR for 10+ minutes at the start of an activity, ruining the overall averages. Then more frequently, they just would find the proper heart rate at all. My most recent attempt had my HR at 160bpm as soon as I started, then dropped down intermittently to 40bpm.While it isn’t too much of an issue with my taking the HRM off mid Zwift, when out running with the TICKR X it is a nightmare taking it off to try and get a decent reading, and then you are relying on inaccurate wrist measurements. I stopped using the TICKR X for runs within a couple of weeks because it was too much hassle having it work less than 50% of the time.I have even had a replacement of the none X model, it seemed to have less issues at the start, but eventually, it succumbed to the same issues

Works great
To be honest I’m not sure it’s better than the wahoo chest strap; but it works great.
