Lots of uses as a level and square. Fits in your pocket but projects across the room.
Just bought this to replace my old one, which is missing. I think the old one might be inside the soffit I just built with it :-)Had the first one for 20+ years. Ordered new one the same day the old one came up missing. Never want to be without it. Tons of uses for this simple, low cost and reliable tool. My favorite application is when I'm installing drywall over can lights (or wall boxes). Rest this tool on the edge of the last sheet and line the laser up with the cans that will be covered by the next sheet. Make reference marks, install next sheet, use this tool to transfer reference marks and use a root-zip to cut out the holes. Also makes for professional plumbing installations when used to align long runs, ells, tees, plus get the pitch right. Batteries lasted me a year or two.

Very good but definitely not a tool of the gods
There's a lot I'd change about this item but overall I rely on it a lot. My wish list for changes probably reflects the feature list of a much more expensive unit, one that probably doesn't exist.1) green laser - green leds are no more expensive than red ones but they're MUCH easier for the human eye to perceive. Green would make any of these laser devices far easier to use in any kind of ambient light. The red requires you often to use something like an index card to go hunt for the spot.2) coaxial beams - I want the beams to exit front AND back, top AND bottom, left AND right.3) integrated base - either integrate the base or for gods sake provide room to store the base with the level.

satisfied having it
First of, I must say that I bought this device just because I desperately need right angle precision measurements for different projects in my garage. I have read many other similar devices and compared them with this one. In term of robustness, I would definitively choose this one. It is Germany made. I ended up using it for my cars wheel alignment. The method I adopt for this task gave me as much precision as any expensive tools they use to charge you at the garage shop. By all means, I can say that I saved a lot of money using this precision alignment tool on the 4 cars that I have at home. That's a hefty $520 savings on my wallet for my 4 cars wheel alignment service. Applied to my particular case, this tool is worth every penny...

Accuracy is great, Magnet design could be improved though
Accuracy is great, Magnet design could be improved though. The three they do use are the strongest by far of any 3 point laser available. The Dewalt 3 point design "no longer made" used two parallel bar magnets that were even stronger and had a better coverage area. If I had known dewalt was going to discontinue theirs I would have stocked up!!

better On/Off switch than Dewalt
The laser is brighter and smaller than the similiar Dewalt I had. The on/off switch is improved also. I had three dewalt lasers that were all exchanged until i gave up because of faulty switches. Other coworkers complained of the same problem with them. Don't use cheap batteries or the switch on these wont work either. If the positve tip of the battery sticks out too far the laser wont turn off. You can either tap the battery tip down or just toss the batteries it comes with and use some good ones. I almost returned this until I fixed the battery problem. Now the switch works great. You would think they would try the batteries they send first. These are invaluable for pipe fabrication.

Bosch level
Great product--great price. I originally saw this item at Lowes, with a sale price of $99. Shopped around online and found it at Amazon for almost $30 less than the price at Lowes. It's a nice tool, and the machining and accuracy is great. It allows me to perform leveling tasks that formerly took two people or a lot of time fiddling with a string level. One suggested improvement would be to alter the case to hold the supplemental leveling baseplate. Because it won't fit in the case, it's likely to get separated from the tool and lost or left behind. Otherwise, I have no complaints about this tool.

Bad switch design, product already discontinued, Parts already unavailable. STAY AWAY!
Bought this tool in July of 2015. It is one of those tools that you need to successfully build a project, then put in the toolbox until the next time it will help satisfy a need to complete something successfully. Well, next time came to pass. Reached for my GPL3T level to align a project, pressed the switch and nothing! Changed batteries (basic troubleshooting) and still nothing. Tested the switch and it is bad. Went to Bosch's website, found the part, listed as discontinued; "This SAP obsolete item has been discontinued and is no longer available". Yet they still sell this P.O.S. at Home Depot and other DYI stores. Stay away, not a good tool

Top of the Line Level
Beauty of a level. This has countless uses and as a welder and pipefitter by trade, this tool is extremely valuable. Even on bright, sunny days you can still find the laser with ease. The level bubbles are a bit small and tough to read accurately at times but not impossible by any means. The magnets are about as strong as you can get so you can hang it just about anywhere and not have to worry about it falling off. If there's a better laser level out there, I haven't seen it.
