A Tardis-like Media Player; it's much bigger on the inside than the outside!
I originally started looking for a DLNA Media Player as my Panasonic (BD110) has a very poor and slow menu when playing files from my PC across my DLNA/WiFi connection; it was just too unwieldy and unusable. I came across this JUSTOP HD Media Box Player and realised that, as I already owned a small portable 1TB USB HDD, I could just copy my Video, Audio and Picture files to this HDD and play my files via the Media box Player. This would save me having to always have my PC on and save me the unnecessary extra expense of a much more expensive DLNA Media Player. (Occasionally copying new files onto the attached HDD is not a chore.)Well, I bought this player and I did not get what I expected... I got MUCH MORE! This is a FANTASTIC little unit at a FANTASTIC price. The HD Quality of the output is excellent; so much so that it is hard to tell sometimes whether I am watching a blu-ray or a normal video file. The sound quality is also excellent. If I play a VOB file from a normal DVD through the Media Box Player I have to say that the on-screen output is astonishing. This really is a Tardis-like Media Player; it's much bigger on the inside than the outside! How they get all that high-quality functionality into such a little box is truly amazing! (TIP: I have converted some older video files into DivX files and I am very pleased indeed by the quality of the output from this little player!) Using the HDD (Mine's is formatted NTFS but FAT32 works too), I can structure my files just how I like it which makes the user experience very satisfying. In the interests of objectivity and to be really nit-picking there are a few minor issues, but none of which detract from the excellent value-for-money of this item. I think these issues are all mentioned in other reviews. Firstly, the remote is small and very busy so I find I sometimes accidentally press the button next to the one intended. It is also a little laggy and it is a good idea to be patient when pressing keys. Also, replacing the remote battery is a good idea. Secondly, having the USB Port on the front means that the USB Cable can obscure the IR Receiver. Thirdly, the front blue LED is unnecessarily bright. (Mine's is now obsured a little). It is worth saying that NONE of these 'issues' make any difference when viewing or listening as the viewing and listening experience is in my opinion very satisfying indeed. Conclusion? If you are looking for a value-for-money Media Player solution, then just buy this and a cheap USB HDD and Hey Presto you have a magical solution for playing your stored media collection via your HDTV!

A sweet yet misunderstood piece of kit.
This little product is quite a nifty piece of kit, assuming you are aware of the limitations of other hardware you attach to it.I bought this item because I was a bit fed up of having to attach my laptop to my TV in order to watch certain movie files that I'd made, converted from VHS or downloaded. I currently have it attached to the TV via HDMI cable, and have a mini 1 Terabyte NTFS hard drive attached. Now, I wasn't sure if that hard-drive would work with this device, since the drive itself is powered directly through the USB port, and has no external power source. But so far as I can tell it works like a charm. Now, I've read a number of negative reviews of this item, but having used it myself, I'm forced to wonder if the people posting poor reviews have considered other factors:I have experienced the unit skipping to the next video file after being paused. However, this is something I could quite easily put down to external hard drive mechanics. External drives are notorious for powering down when they have not been accessed for a short time. For some of the larger drives this can be 3-5 minutes. I have experienced exactly the same thing on a laptop and desktop PC when playing video files from an external hard drive. Even PC based video playback software can jump to the next file after being paused long enough for an external drive to power down.I've not tried the same thing playing back a video from a USB stick or SD card yet. If other reviewers had posted precisely what they were doing when they encountered their issues, then troubleshooting incidents like this might not be so difficult. Some reviewers have also posted about issues regarding FastForward and Rewind of certain video files. One reviewer said "A big problem is the fast forward/rewind only working properly on some videos. On others it freezes picture while still fast forwarding (so don't know where you are), and on some it freezes the player completely which then has to have power unplugged and plugged back in." Again, as an experienced computer user I can't definitively lay the blame at the doorstep of this unit. There are poor quality video files out there with bad bits of data in them, and while some PC based video playback software can "skip" these errors, others can't. People must remember that we are dealing here with a single purpose device, not a versatile computer.Personally I'm thankful that this unit works with so many Codecs. I imagine that, given a half-decent quality external drive, USB stick or SD card, and a good quality data stream in the video file, then it will work like a dream. I just refuse to lay the blame on a hammer when it's the nail at fault. 4-Stars.

AMAZING FOR THE MONEY.
This tiny little box of electronics has, even in the few days since it arrived, changed the way I watch programmes I have downloaded from the internet. The picture quality it outputs via HDMI onto my large screen TV is as good as the Blu rays that I normally watch. It really does chuck out a good 1080p signal if it is fed it. Already I am looking to purchase a couple more memory sticks and a stand alone back up hard drive of 1/2Terrabites to sit next to this box. The remote, as others have said, is rather small and some of the writing on it is almost impossible to see as it is black on black. The boxes screen aspect seems to have a mind of its own, no matter what option you choose, on occasions, but overall this box is a superb addition for anyone who wants to play material on the internet on their main TV.Do not let the cheap price put you off. It is not a case of getting what you pay for but rather getting far more than what you are paying for.Treat yourself but use an HDMI between the box and the TV. It has coped with every type of file thrown at it that has been on the 16GB and 32GB sticks fed into its front so far. I cannot fathom how to get the photos to slideshow etc even though I have done what the instructions say to the letter ,but can only change them manually, but have only had it for 5 days and will hopefully crack it.Basically, a few niggles aside, this is an amazing little product that measures about 6cm x 5cm by just over 1cm deep. The Tardis would be envious of what it holds in its tiny body.
