Great book to talk about anxiety
I use this book in elementary sped to teach about handling anxiety. It's a great starting point to talk about how ignoring feelings and problems can sometimes make them worse. Lots of supporting materials to expand on the concept. Would also highly recommend for a parent whose child is struggling with anxiety or anxious feelings.

A kid with anxiety will know exactly what it's talking about.
Coming from a person with anxiety, this book is very well done. I would estimate it is designed for kids 8 to 10. It's definitely above my 6-year-old, which gave us opportunities to have discussion as much as he was able to. This book was clearly written by somebody who understands anxiety. For example, it talks about wishing that the anxiety weren't there and trying to pretend it's not there and that when you do that, it just gets bigger. It also mentions that the anxiety can get so big that you can't even focus on school work. Things like thought that the kid could never express themselves but would be able to put words to after reading this book. I highly recommend it.I liked it at the end the boy gives tips for dealing with anxiety. Spoiler: it ends with the dragon on a leash with a collar, with the kid in control of the dragon.

Highly recommend. Great resource to help kids with anxiety
Very creative book to help kids who experience anxiety. Externalizing worries as a dragon is very beneficial to children. A dash of humor in the book helps as well! Highly recommend.

Perfect for children fears
This book is amazing. It helps children deal with things they are afraid of. It helps them understand it is normal to be afraid and that you can slain that dragon that is bothering you. The dragon is the different things you are afraid of. It is easy to understand and the story is amazing. At least once per week I read this book to my son.

Great book to explain getting over 'stuff'
I bought this book to help explain the need for counseling and to help normalize the issues that children may have. It describes in fun language the process of therapy for many issues. Many parents wonder how to explain therapy to their child. Here is a book that does it, simply, clearly, and in a fun playful way.

Great book for children with anxiety or who have experienced ...
Great book for children with anxiety or who have experienced loss. My kids were read this story after the death of their father during a grief therapy session. They liked it so much that they asked for a copy. They are 6 and 10, but I think the book applies to younger children, and its message is also useful for adults.

Simple but so effective
Was recommended by my childโs psychologist for her stomach pains/anxiety after her sister was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She was 9 at the time. Weโd read it together and she found it really helped. 5 years on and I still find it on her bed some nights if she canโt sleep. Simple and effective. I recommend to any of my friends whose children have anxieties in whatever shape or form.

Beautiful illustrations
This book is gorgeous but probably a bit wordy/complicated for my Y1 class. They did enjoy looking at the dragons though and I was able to read them a few pages at a time.

Super book!
I am a teacher and SENCO. We use this book in school to work with Children who are worried, upset or angry about something. The story itself is lovely and the messages in the book can be very powerful. I would recommend this book.
