This kit solved my problem
I've been studying LED trailer light kits for a couple of weeks. I finally decided on the Peterson V941 Piranha Red LED Rear Trailer Light Kit from Amazon.com. Reason #1 is that they are "submersible", not just "waterproof". They replaced incandescent lights on my boat trailer. I replaced the incandescent lights because I was burning out the lighting converter on my Toyota Rav4 because of the high inrush currents of the incandescent lights. (The converter is needed to convert the 3 light vehicle system to 2 light trailer lighting.) LED lights apprently don't have inrush current, they are instantly "on" and the operating current is very low. The lights are bright. They also are of better quality than the other lights I studied. Problem solved. Amazon.com service was quick.

Great replacement light set, but kit contains enough for a new install as well.
Purchased as a replacement for standard incandescent (1157 bulbs) Peterson lights. Easy to install, illumination is more than satisfactory, and I'm hoping that the LEDs can stand up to these Jersey potholes better than the filaments in the 1157s. Standard lights had a separate wire and bulb for running lights, which defeated the purpose of the 1157s; these lights correct that flaw. Package actually included a harness and enough wire to rewire the trailer, but I opted against that. Thus far, I am quite happy w/ this kit.

Works well as long as you don't smash it
Bought this set to replace the same model that got smashed on my trailer. I have now replaced the right side twice due to physical damage, the left side has been working fine for the last 8 years!

LED light pattern does not match picture on packaging
Purchased set based upon led light pattern depicted because my left side tail light needed to be replaced. Individual sides were not available. Had to replace both sides though because item did not match picture. Dimensionally the set was the same and seems to be good quality. The pair look great and function nicely.

Quality control issues?
Returned them because mounting parts were missing. Reordered, and the next set was missing the wiring. They looked new and unopened, so I not sure if it is an Amazon issue, or a manufacturing issue. Decided to punt and get something else. Cannot comment on brightness.

Beware!!!!! The picture is not ...
Beware !!!!! The picture is not what you get !!! The picture is the 840/840l lights, but what you receive is a completely different light design than what is pictured both left and right and bulb pattern. Picture needs to be updated to show the correct bulb pattern and design.
