My Last $40… WORTH IT!
AMAZING. Genuinely didn’t think I would ever be obsessed with a fan, but here I am. This fan is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Is it a basic box fan? Well yes, but no. It produces hurricane level winds, is incredibly sturdy, and genuinely will last you forever. Other box fans don’t have good supports on the bottom and they rattle or move. This one has adjustable supports, doesn’t rattle, and isn’t flimsy. Other box fans are flimsy and cheap, yes this one is a little more expensive, but you’ll never need another fan again. I never thought I’d become a fan connoisseur, but you’ll never go back.

REFRESHINGLY DIFFERENT
I have for the last 30 years lived on a beach in Florida. Moist sea air plays havoc on your home if you live on the ocean and there are a lot of maintenance things you need to do. (I know, oh boohoo for me, hey everyone has problems). Every year I would buy at least two new Lasco box fans. I have literally been buying this brand and this exact model of fan for at least a decade. I have been able to see that over the years the fans have gotten smaller and thinner, what was once made out of metal is now made out of plastic, The price of the fans of course continues to rise, to a place where they are now more than double what I originally paid when I bought my first one. As a result of cutting corners in order to produce these fans, the quality has become quite poor. I need to circulate air throughout my home even when my central air conditioning is not running, in order to prevent the growth of mold due to the level of humidity in my home by virtue of living on the ocean. These fans were just simply no longer up to the task and I set out to find a new brand. Enters Genesis fans. I received my first genesis fan yesterday to replace a lasco. So, where do I begin? Let's start with aesthetics. This was frankly never a great point for me because the fans are more function rather than a fashion statement. However, that being said, the Lasco fans are quite ugly in appearance to be quite frank. They look like what you would imagine a fan built to sit in a hospital would look like, stark white plastic. Incidentally a white fan does not stay white forever. I found my Genesis fan to be a solid black with a greater eye towards design in terms of the front and back screening. They've chosen a pattern that is aesthetically pleasing. Even the blades of the two fans are different. The Genesis having more of an aerodynamic sleekness, that is seen in its appearance and in terms of (I believe) it's operation. Simply stated the Genesis is a much better looking fan for the same amount of money. Next in terms of functionality. I must say that the Genesis is highly superior. Whereas in the past I would utilize my Lasco fans at the highest setting, I am receiving the same or a greater airflow with the Genesis on the lowest setting. This, in and of itself, is the essence of a review of a box fan, It does a much better job at moving air. I do not find the fan to be louder than previous box fans I have owned. I however may not be the best unbiased judge in this regard as it is white noise which I find pleasant. Overall I would highly recommend this fan, it is reasonably priced (in this day and age) coming in at about a dollar less than the Lasco. I received next day free shipping. It arrives assembled out of the box and is packaged well. It's hot, it's summer, if you need a box fan, I would buy one of these.

Solid fan. Failed after 1 year non-stop use, but worth it.
I bought this just over 1 year ago. It failed two days ago. Just no longer spins. It had been running 24x7 since I plugged it in. Often on low speed, sometimes on high. It was used for air filtration and background noise. I kept a 20x20x1 air filter and a larger-particle filter attached to it while in use, which I expect hastened the failure. This is a very good fan. It has more air flow than any $20-$30 20" box fans I've purchased at local stores or online. It has less air flow than more expensive box fans I've purchased: Air King B0007Q3RMA ~$60, Vornado B0DQLYB69J ~$100, which are proportionally louder and have more air flow on high than this model. The Vornado will blow itself over near high, the Air King to a lesser degree, depending on what you have them sitting on. This one won't, but it's perfect for a bedroom or office where you want air flow and maybe background noise, though high is too loud for a home office-type environment. I have purchased 4 of these over the years. Two failed, one I tossed as it was dirty and old and another I gave away. Unless you need to move some serious air and can justify the cost of a more expensive fan, this is probably the fan you want.

I'm a fan
The phrase "they don't make 'em like they used to" can be applied to almost all modern electronics and this fan is no exception. I remember a box fan my grandparents had. It was solid steel construction with metal blades and a knob on top that clicked into position with military precision. It moves more air than a jet turbine. If you stick a cucumber in there, it'll slice it clean. It's over 60 years old, covered in rust, but it's still in use at my mom's house. I will probably be passing it down to my children. On the flip-side, I have no delusions that my grandchildren will be enjoying this modern-era plastic fan, but that's not a knock against the manufacturer; it's just a fact of life. Modern manufacturing hasn't had a focus on long-term strength and durability for decades, so people's complaints about this fan being cheap plastic are unfounded. Manufacturing of appliances with light electric motors hit its stride in the 50's and 60's. This isn't changing, deal with it. It's not the fan's fault. With that out of the way, as far as cheap plastic modern box fans go, this is the best I've seen for 5 reasons: 1) Eye-catching design. It really does look more attractive than other fans with its slender blades, choice of color, and clean top surface. 2) Very powerful. This fan's "low" setting is like a medium or high on most fans. This fan's "high" setting should be called "lay fan on floor for skydiving simulation." I've found that on medium this fan moves plenty of air for nearly any situation, but if you really want to kick it up, that high setting is amazing. Others complain of noise, but the noise is appropriate for how much air is moving and how fast the blades are spinning. The motor itself is very quiet and efficient; all the noise is from moving air and slicing blades. No noise means no air moving, people. 3) Front control knob is much more convenient than the usual top knob. Keeps it from getting damaged and it's easier to actuate while the fan is inevitably situated in a window. 4) Back-side handle. No top handle here, you grab the fan from a recessed rear handle to carry it. In nearly every plastic fan I've owned, the top handle and top control knobs are the first thing to break off. They are too exposed up there, and prone to bumping and breaking. I suspect this back grip will last much longer and combined with the aforementioned front control knob, I don't think I'll be replacing this fan just because cheap plastic parts broke off. 5) Adjustable feet. Feet swing out for extra stability, then swing back for storage or tight spaces. Good design. I'm not an engineer, but I suspect the unique slender blade design is what allows this fan to operate at higher speeds and move so much more air on "high" than other fans. Time will tell if this new design will hold up over the years. I'm concerned that slender blades are more prone to breakage. However, as it sits, this is the best box fan I've seen since the golden era of manufacturing. Admittedly, it actually does move more air on "high" than my grandmother's fan for less money than hers probably cost new. (inflation adjusted of course) At the time of this review, this fan cost approximately 5-10 dollars more than competing box fans. I'm confident it was worth the extra money.

No Tricks, Just Turbo Breeze
My take on the Genesis 20″ Box Fan G20BOX‑BLK... ⭐️ Rating: 5 / 5 - This thing seriously blows—in the absolute best way. Scene 1: The Blast-Off You plug this in, queue up its Max Cooling Technology, and brace yourself—the air surge hits like a cinematic wind machine. Think of it as a hurricane in a box, but refined and you want to be in the eye of it. Users on Amazon even titled their reviews “This fan blew me away!!” and yep, I’m here cheering that sentiment. Scene 2: Performance on Point It’s a 20″ high-velocity box fan with three speed settings and a built-in carry handle. It’s basic but potent—just the way me likes it. Folks rave about the airflow—“super strong,” “can’t sleep without it,” etc., and no one complains. Pros: - Wind satisfaction at full throttle: Pack a punch even on medium speed. - Portable & practical: Easy to move around with that built-in handle. - Simple, reliable design: No gimmicks. It does exactly what you need. - Reliable reviews: Real users keep echoing the “blown away” mantra. Minor “Plot Twists” - Truth is—there’s really nothing to pick apart here. No fancy add-ons, no Wi-Fi drama—just pure airflow excellence. My Highlights Table... Feature: My Take Airflow PPV (Pure Power Value): Think convertible top down at 90 mph—instant cool. Build & portability: Streamlined design, handy handle = move it anywhere. Yelling distance: This fan’s reach extends far—your entire room feels it. Zero bells or whistles: No remotes, no apps, no failures: just win. Final Verdict Obsession level: high. This fan doesn’t just move air—it commands it. Flawless in execution. I love it. If your soul craves strong, honest airflow without fuss—this fan is the answer. Would I buy again? Absolutely.

Poor design, housing is cheap pliable plastic, no real carry handle not worth $40.00
I purchased this fan because I had a similar box fan that, although it was well constructed, it was really noisy and I was tired of that noise and I gave it away. I chose this one after reading reviews and seeing the large number of 5 star reviews, but was rather shocked after trying it out. The housing on this fan is made of cheap, bendable/pliable plastic. It does not have a carrying handle – there is a groove built into the upper corner of the back, your fingers go in the groove and you have to wrap your hand around the frame and grasp the frame with fingers and thumb to pick it up. This is not a carrying handle. The blades are installed so close to the front of the frame that they hit the frame if you apply enough pressure grasping the fan while it is running. It is very noisy – really annoying on low and obnoxious on med/high setting. I gave my other box fan away because it was too noisy – I regret that now because that fan was constructed with steel and hard, solid plastic that didn't bend in toward the blades if you applied pressure to it or picked it up. The blades never hit the frame and it had an actual carry handle mounted on the top of the unit for convenience and ease of handling. And it cost under $20.00 a few years ago. I can still go online and find other suppliers who sell other brands of fans that have a combo of steel and hard plastic frame construction and are literally half the price of this one. This one is nowhere near being worth $40.00, copper motor or not. It seems as if the company boasts about the durable copper motor but has cut costs and sacrificed quality on all other fronts for this fan. Very, very disappointed with this purchase because I have two other brands at home to compare it to and it does not measure up. I am returning it to replace it with a less costly and better designed/built unit.

Worth the purchase
It’s loud but works great. Nothing you can’t get used to. I ended buying 2. The noise becomes white noise. And when it gets hot & humid …. What noise¿

Works great but not as advertised
Works great, better than the 16' fan I was using before to circulate the AC air through my entire apartment. Only negative is it does not have a carry handle as advertised, and the online warranty card can only be filled in the USA.
