Nicely built tape measure with a lot of built-in functions
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. My parents currently have a Tacklife branded laser tape measure, and I decided to get something similar for myself because I have been borrowing his for some time and haven't really returned it back to him. Here are the differences I can find between the two:1. The Tacklife had the laser positioned on the side which makes it a bit bulkier, whereas the Meterk has it built into the body.2. The Tacklife used non-rechargeable batteries (2xAAA) with the battery door secured by a screw, whereas the Meterk uses a built-in rechargeable Li-Po battery that can be recharged using the USB-C port.3. The Tacklife has a backlight screen where the backlight turns off after 10s, the Meterk's backlight is continuously on while the device is in operation.4. The Tacklife uses a one-sided magnetic latch (facing down) for latching onto the side of surfaces for measurement, whereas the Meterk has a non-magnetic latch facing both up and down.5. The Meterk uses a font that is bolder and wider than the Tacklife.6. The tape on the Meterk is a bit wider compared to the Tacklife.7. The Tacklife has various logos printed on the front face of the tape that can have small readings harder to read while the Meterk does not.8. Whereas the Tacklife only supports normal vs. continuous measures, the Meterk contains other features like calculating surface area and volume (as well as tallying functions that allow you to add up sections of the measurement without needing a calculator). The Meterk also lets you save values into its internal memory.9. The Meterk does not make any sounds during measurements whereas the Tacklife beeps on every measurement taken. On the continuous mode, the Tacklife measure keeps beeping 2-3 times every second.10. Height wise, the laser for the Tacklife is positioned towards the center of the body (and on the side) whereas the Meterk has its laser positioned towards the bottom of the unit. Due to the positioning of the laser, it is easier to measure things like window sills on the Meterk than on the Tacklife.11. The Tacklife has both the laser and the tape measure itself facing the front of the unit, whereas Meterk has its laser on the opposite side of the tape measure. For this reason, it is not possible for you to confirm the laser measurement with the measuring tape unless you turn the unit around. That being said, the laser measurements have been pretty accurate (as you can see with my paper measurements about) as long as the proper +/- setting is configured (by default it adds the width of the measure onto the final result).12. The Meterk requires you to press the DIST button twice to turn on the device, whereas the Tacklife turns on with a single press of the READ button. I assume this is to prevent the device from being powered on accidentally when it's in a toolbag or being pressed in a pocket. Interestingly, the Meterk does have the backlight turn on once if you press the button once, but will immediately turn off unless you quickly tap the DIST button. If you were not reading the manual carefully, you might have thought you have received a defective device.13. When reading in the inches unit, the Tacklife reads any fractional number as a digit (e.g. 8.5 in), whereas the Meterk reads them as a fraction (e.g. 8 1/2 in). For shipping packages, it may be easier to have fractional numbers be represented as digits rather than fractions for the calculation of dimension weight, although most shipping services round the number to the nearest inch so it's not too big of a deal.14. The lanyard is placed towards the back of the body for the Tacklife where it has no function on the side of the tape measure whereas the Meterk's lanyard hole is directly on top of the laser. This means you will have to brush the lanyard aside when you are doing laser readings otherwise the laser may hit the lanyard itself resulting in an incorrect reading. I won't dock them a star for this since it's an interesting problem... "where else would you put the lanyard without it hanging weird or affecting operation in some way?" It seems like Meterk made the compromise of building the laser into the unit so that you can read windowsills or other hard to read areas with ease, but doing so makes it difficult to place a lanyard hole on the unit without compromising some other function. I guess it might have been possible to put the lanyard hole on the top of the body, although the unit would probably dangle a bit weird from the hand.A specific note for charging this device: Although it has a USB-C port, it is not a true USB-C device (nor it has any data transfer functionalities). Specifically, it lacks the resistors on the CC wire that is required to turn on the Vbus at the source. In layman terms, you have to use a USB-A to USB-C cable to charge this device (one is included in the box). Using a USB-C charger (or a USB-C port from your laptop) with a C-C cable will not allow the device to be charged. If your laptop only has a C port and you wish to charge this on the laptop, you will need an OTG adapter that converts the USB-C port back into a USB-A port (with a 56k pull-up resistor) and use the enclosed cable to charge the device. The device charges with very little current (0.2A), so any USB port should be able to power this easily. Just make sure you don't pull the rubber piece securing the port too hard or you may break it (you first will have to pry the cover from the bottom, then lift it from the top once it's loose since the bottom is connected to the rest of the body).Overall, I think this is a good tape measure with a variety of different functionalities. There is a bit of a learning curve to this initially, but once you get the hang of it, it is actually a pretty good tape measure to have around, especially with its recharging capabilities where you don't have to worry about taking a screwdriver and finding replacement batteries for the unit.

This is better then traditional way to measure
The tape is with laser. Charges fast to full. It took me about 30 mins. The tape measure has inch and CM. Which is good to read and combine the measurements when you needed. Laser is not that much needed. I usually just use tape measure. But it’s nice to have a laser. I’m getting use to use laser as much as I can. Which I find laser sometime it saves me a lots of time when take measurements. Much faster, and more accurate. There many choices on amazon for this type of product. I like this one. It has what I need. Light weight. Protection cover on outside. Good looking in red. Metal hook for me hang it on belt. 4 easy control bottom. 16 ft tape with inch/cm. Tape control clip to hold tape when you measure.

Using it daily
Figuring out how to turn it on and switch measurements took me a moment since the instructions aren’t very detailed but once I figured it out it’s been an excellent tool! I wish the digital display worked on the measuring tape as well but it doesn’t. Not the end of the world though as I can easily read the measuring tape. The laser measurements are great and very accurate! I also really like the soft return on the measuring tape, it doesn’t just fly back into place but softly returns. Really happy with this purchase and use it all the time!

Worthwhile purchase
I am very pleased with this new tool. The only inconvenience occurs when using the laser measurement, (it is sometimes inconvenient to access the "buttons"). This occurs when the buttons are facing away from you, i.e. when measuring from "left" to "right". Specifically, the "Dist" button is used to indicate that you want to confirm a laser reading. When the "Dist" button is pressed, the laser turns off and the result is displayed. In the "left to right" case, you must locate the "Dist" button by "feel". It would be nice to have that button duplicated on both sides of the device...or present on the edge.

Great buy
I purchased this Meterk 2 in 1 Laser Distance Meter as my first laser measuring device. I waited some time to see how good of a product it is. The unit includes a standard measuring tape, measuring in both feet/inches and metric, which I found handy. But the real utility of this unit is the laser measuring capabilities. It is quite accurate, and measures linear, square footage, and cubic volume precisely and quickly. The large readout on top was easy to read and stayed visible after the measurement was taken. My only criticism is the use instructions are very skimpy. Overall, I was impressed with the quality and usefulness of this device and I would definitely recommend it to DIYers.

This tape measure is awesome
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I am super impressed with this date measure. I took it through several tests and each time the accuracy was spot on with the laser. I really wish I would have had this when I was setting some poles for a fence to divide my yard. That's what I made my fence come out a lot straighter. It works as a traditional tape measure as well and the retracting mechanism works great. Tape measure locks out like a standard tape measure as well. But where it shines is with the laser pointer. speaking of laser pointer after I recorded the video for this review I went and had some fun with my dogs. LoL yeah so this laser measuring device can double as a dog toy. There's a lot more that this tape measure is able to do that I have yet to discover. But I did read through some of the other functionality and going to play with it some more to figure out what else this thing can do for me. But overall I'm super impressed with the quality of the build as the tape measure seems very heavy duty and should last a lifetime. Did I mention that it has a very cool LCD display screen? Yes it does. I definitely recommend this tape measure.

A brilliant product, very happy.
These Brush Mates are very good, saving a lot of time and money, you can use two three different brushes and colours without worrying about cleaning out the brushes.

Very good product
This is a very useful product and easy to use. No need to wash your paintbrushes after every paint session, just pop them in this tin and the paint on the brushes stays moist so the brushes are ready to use again.
