It's annoying to remove if you put the catnip inside the holder since the catnip flakes can easily fall out and get lost in the carpet, so I just typically leave it on the wall and keep it as is. You can remove the actual spikes without removing the whole thing, so the adhesives won't get ruined from on and off removals. My main concern with this product is with the strength of the adhesives. Let me warn you, they're VERY sticky! When I put the scratcher on the wall, it immediately stuck and stayed in place no matter how much my kitty rubbed her face on it. However, I quickly realized that I put the scratcher a bit too high up on the wall and had to readjust it, little did I realize, the adhesives were stuck on quite well and it pulled off a bit of my wall when I tried to remove it. Funny enough, even with drywall chunks on 2/4ths of the adhesive tapes, I was still able to stick this thing back on the wall without any problems and it still doesn't budge. Has helped with his long hair under his neck ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Let’s them rub on something that isn’t your face *by E***. on June 10, 2020* I have two cats, but I ordered this specifically for a cat that loves to cuddle and would like nothing more than to lay on your chest and rub her whiskers all over your chin all day long. I was hoping that this would be comforting to her to have while I am gone at work. It didn’t work for what I wanted it to, but she still likes it and I would buy it again. Installing this is easy, it can be stuck to the wall with sticky pads or screwed onto the wall. It comes with sticky pads but no screws. I originally had planned to use the included pads but after visualizing what would happen if it unstuck from the wall and re-stuck to my cats fur, I decided to just screw it onto the wall. I does show in the directions that you can attach it to either a corner or to flat wall, but I felt a corner would work best as it gives cats more area to move around and really rub up against it. I will note that when I was installing this, the backing cracked which doesn’t affect the functionality, but I feel I should mention it as it doesn’t seem very durable. The sides of this brush can be filled with catnip, but after trying it with two types of catnip, I think I’ll stick to just spraying it with liquid catnip. The side areas to hold the catnip are very small and for the less finely ground catnip that I tried initially, it was a huge pain to get it inside and just as annoying to remove. With the finely ground catnip, it wanted to all come out of the vents. Also, it didn’t really get either of my cats more excited to rub against it anyway. After leaving this for several days, I found that my hope to give my cat something to rub against when I’m gone during the day didn’t really work out like I wanted. She doesn’t use this during the day when I’m gone, but she will use it when I’m at home and nearby. All things considered, I would call that a win. Overall, at the current price of around $5, I would recommend this to most cat owners. It’s nice to have another option for your feline friends to rub up against, especially if they happen to be the extra cuddly type. I don’t feel that this is the most durable brush, but at this price, it doesn’t need to last forever for me to feel like I got my money’s worth.
